I have no idea where Will is getting 11% from but I work as a financial counselor in NYC & see several hundred clients/yr and I would say that it’s 11% if and only if you’re taking home >85k (gross $150k). For most ppl I see food is the single largest expense outside of housing and is closer to 20%
Most people spend about 11% of their income on food - hardly the major part of their expenses. Half of food spending is away from home - restaurants and delivery. The idea that most people's economic existence requires carefully monitoring the price of milk and eggs is literally absurd.
4% of a monthly budget is a bit more than a day's worth of food. You did not think about what you were saying. People notice when they are missing more meals.

This is called a community college and if we funded them properly we wouldn't need private individuals to offer these kinds of services.

I seriously have no idea why it’s legal for Trump to sue constituents as President
President Trump's lawyers have told a court he shouldn't have to respond to lawsuits because it would distract him from running the government.

But he's found time to bring lawsuits of his own, against the New York Times and even against his own administration.

Even less of an idea how it’s legal for him to sue the DOJ!

America is in a really weird spot right now in that there is just an insane amount of gun violence but nowhere near enough people high school age and above are getting their asses beat or punched in the face

And no I generally do not support violence but this is where I am right now

Because it’s not really about trying to get troops to vote Republican-that would be bad enough. It’s about conditioning the military to obey a man and not their oath to the Constitution. It’s why Hegseth & Trump were so adamant about prosecuting the 6 Dems who spoke up about it.

Not thrilled with the fact it was actually 30 years ago but this album is fucking awesome and I’m gonna listen to it right now
The Fugees released their sophomore and final album, 'The Score,' 30 years ago today. 💿

The album sits on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast.

The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me.

But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.

Talking about this administration makes you sound like a conspiracy theorist or something bec the cruelty is something out of an over the top cartoon. But this shit is real and I walk around every day with this incandescent rage and deep sadness.

Ending this operation is not enough.

We need justice and accountability. That starts with independent investigations into the murders of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, economic restitution for businesses impacted, abolishing ICE, and the impeachment of Kristi Noem.
