The difference between a judicial warrant and an administrative warrant is the difference between a $20 bill and a napkin that a fascist wrote "twenty dollars" on.

It’s so hard to have a reasonable conversation about AI, because people refuse to see the massive upsides of job elimination, higher electrical bills, hard drive shortages, poisoning black people in Memphis, and an economy where a handful of pedos with bad hair control your life

stop getting boxed in on the microscopic issues that are most confusing (eg women's sports), and return to basic democratic values. a citizen of a free country should be able to pick their own gender, period

funny that these people understand the importance of salience when it is an issue like immigration — "don't talk about it you don't want to raise the salience!" — but forget the word when it involves the rights of minorities. almost as if they are laundering their own views and prejudices as "data"

Rev. Jesse Jackson's "I *am* somebody..." remains one of the all-time great pieces of 20th century rhetoric / agitprop

And he could deliver it at a Black separatist meeting, the Democratic National Convention, or on god-blessed Sesame Street (see below 🥹)

Again, all I'm asking is that any Democrat who wants my vote support 1. Reverting Trump's anti-trans policies, 2. Commit to fighting against the future erosion of trans rights, and 3. Support legislation codifying trans rights into law.

Very weird how many of you centrists think that's unreasonable

This guy also thinks it’s ok 2 ICE assholes lied about the circumstances surrounding their illegal shooting of someone who isn’t a US citizen bec apparently we can murder non citizens indiscriminately now (pls see the murders the military is conducting in the Caribbean)

So you're saying ICE is incompatible with the rule of law as practiced in this nation from the founding?

Think I see a pretty easy solution here, champ.

The NYTimes often doesn't quote Trump at all, instead reframing his words with a summary falsely suggesting coherent thought, in contrast to the gibberish he actually said. They also don't mention how he routinely mumbles and slurs even prepared remarks, like here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Zsd...
Have you ever once seen the New York Times quote Trump like this?

My main opinion on Graham Platner is if there was a 41 year old guy running in the Republican primary for the Maine Senate seat and it turned out that he had a Nazi tattoo for 15 years and then he claimed that he just didn't know it was a Nazi tattoo, none of you would ever stop screaming about it.

Musk, meanwhile, is literally parroting Nazi propaganda about how multicultural, multiracial nations would be easy to beat.

I'm Asian American. Nazi shit and racist shit and misogynist shit freaks me out because I stand in solidarity with everyone else who's a target of bigotry in this country. So yes, Platner alarms the hell out of me. I wish he alarmed the hell out of the New Republic.

Just gonna say there are plenty of insurgent, anti-establishment candidates WITHOUT Nazi tattoos that the New Republic could have featured instead of Platner.

You could ABSOLUTELY make the point that Ds are mad at the centrist leaders of the party WITHOUT helping rehabilitate this particular guy.

I have no idea where Will is getting 11% from but I work as a financial counselor in NYC & see several hundred clients/yr and I would say that it’s 11% if and only if you’re taking home >85k (gross $150k). For most ppl I see food is the single largest expense outside of housing and is closer to 20%
Most people spend about 11% of their income on food - hardly the major part of their expenses. Half of food spending is away from home - restaurants and delivery. The idea that most people's economic existence requires carefully monitoring the price of milk and eggs is literally absurd.
4% of a monthly budget is a bit more than a day's worth of food. You did not think about what you were saying. People notice when they are missing more meals.

I seriously have no idea why it’s legal for Trump to sue constituents as President
President Trump's lawyers have told a court he shouldn't have to respond to lawsuits because it would distract him from running the government.

But he's found time to bring lawsuits of his own, against the New York Times and even against his own administration.
