National media should really be covering the fact thay every major school, museum, and arts institution in the Twin Cities, and hundreds of local businesses are closed tomorrow to protest federal occupation.

Nothing like this at this scale has happened anywhere in America anytime in living memory.

"Buy now, pay later" for rent is just the next frontier of predatory extraction.

It's a way of monetizing desperation: turning the basic human need for shelter into yet another fee-laden credit product that will hit the poorest tenants the hardest.

As an addendum, the feds are now 0 - 15 (by my count) in prosecutions deriving from Operation Midway Blitz.

You can read more about how they keep losing here:

Below is our story about the skyrocketing number of kids detained by ICE.

We cover the facility where Liam is now being held-- parents said food had worms and mold, and kids were so distressed they hit themselves in the face and wet themselves.

ICE Threw Thousands of Kids in Detention, Many For Longer Than Court-Prescribed Limit
Former immigration staffers argue ICE is choosing to detain families for prolonged periods to speed deportations and compel them to leave.

Recall that a district court wrote a lengthy and closely reasoned opinion blocking DOGE's access to sensitive SSA data after extensive briefing. The Fourth Circuit agreed. Then SCOTUS threw that out with no explanation in a two-page emergency order.
"Two members of Elon Musk’s DOGE team working at the Social Security Administration were secretly in touch with an advocacy group seeking to “overturn election results in certain states,” and one signed an agreement that may have involved using Social Security data to match state voter rolls..."
If anyone has any information on the identity of the "advocacy group tyring to overturn election results in certain states” and who were secretly in contact with DOGE, my Signal is DavidGilbert.01

new from @tusk81.bsky.social:

Across the country, states and local leaders are stepping up.

In one of her first major acts after her inauguration, Virginia Gov. Spanberger rescinded a Youngkin-era EO that required and encouraged state and local law enforcement into federal immigration enforcement.
Localities and States Are Quickly Acting To Protect Immigrant Communities From ICE Overreach
“It is not the job of Virginia’s law enforcement agencies to carry out the Trump administration’s brutal and fear-based anti-immigrant agenda."

If Democrats aren’t whipping votes against ICE funding, and letting conservative members vote to pass it, it means the Democratic Party supports ICE funding.

If your opposition to fascism is performative, then you don’t actually oppose fascism.
Jeffries Won’t Whip Vote Against ICE Funding - The American Prospect
While the House Democratic leader announced personal opposition to a funding bill for the Department of Homeland Security, he won’t pressure his colleagues to do the same.

The utter cowardice and depravity of the Republicans in Congress and in the cabinet is shocking to behold. Are they really going to allow a corrupt, senile president to lead the country off a cliff while also violating the rights of Americans in every conceivable way? It sure looks like it.

SEEING IS BELIEVING

DHS claims the car being chased rammed the ICE vehicle. The video shows the opposite.

📌 A father and son, a US citizen, are chased. The teen is beaten and seriously injured. The father is deported.

DHS lied. The video tells the truth. Excellent reporting by Antonia Hylton.

I would also note: X has deleted a handful of these images. But the vast majority of them remain live on X today.
In our conservative estimate, 41 percent of Grok’s images — or 1.8 million — were sexualized depictions of women. Separately, CCDH analyzed how many were sexualized images across genders and ages. Their findings: an estimated 3 million images, including more than 23,000 of children.
