This hearing with Jack Smith was just made public and I’m sure will be buried by other news, but it’s important confirmation: two apparently slam-dunk cases against Trump’s most serious crimes, if only AG Garland hadn’t sat on it for over 2y. Enraging.

This is true and I was the only one on set excited about it (and playing the song on my phone to blank stares)
Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up.

I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

A small (personal) example of this book’s intellectual dishonesty:

My father-in-law is reading In Covid’s Wake, and excitedly told me he found a passage where I’m quoted. The quote in question is me saying the FBI worked to censor speech on social media.

Huh? When did I say that?!

Weird weekend, huh? Took a crack at breaking down the whole Clair Obscur genAI situation, and its bizarre fallout, as best as possible. My main takeaway right now is that people really need to figure out exactly what they're criticizing or it's going to get messy. www.polygon.com/clair-obscur...
The debate over gen AI in games is about to get a lot messier in 2026

yeah I mean it’s genuinely sad that the “reasonable old school” Republican (who Dems eagerly and unanimously voted to confirm) is out here doing pressers blatantly geeked out coke and it’s not subtle

Ugh fine I’ll be that guy…I dislike seeing the backlash against some of the most affecting titles this year, E33 and The Alters, over minor genAI use. If you haven’t played them, you’re missing out on clear labors of love.

AI slop is a problem. Witch hunts and purity tests aren’t the answer.

at a certain level of any creative or intellectual collaborative job the main task is sin-eater: to fix what you can and get blamed for what you can’t, secretly knowing how much worse it would have been if you hadn’t done what you did.

the U.S. government illegally killed him. His relatives say Alejandro Carranza was on a routine fishing trip, and his wife told reporters he left home to fish and had no ties to drug trafficking.
Colombian killed in U.S. strike was on a fishing trip, wife claims: "Why did they just take his life like that?"
Alejandro Carranza's family is questioning U.S. claims that he was carrying narcotics aboard a small vessel targeted last month.

It’s honestly weird to see this break through. All this shit was already illegal! They’ve already bombed random innocent fishers! What are we doing here
NYT:
Five officials told us that Hegseth had nothing to do with the second strike

Washpost (which broke the story 2 days ago):
“This is ‘protect Pete’ bullshit,”
and
“It’s throwing us, the service members, under the bus.”
