This is a question I also have. What magic are we hoping to recapture? What glory are we hoping to return to? What success are we hoping to replicate? What wins are we being tempted by? And why not at least try somebody who doesn't seem to inspire hostility everywhere he goes?

Husband and I saw a video about paleontologists who, after many years of searching and comparing, diagnosed the first known case of bone cancer in a dinosaur, 77 million years after it lived.
Me: That’s really awesome!
Husband: Not for that dinosaur.
