The people showed up in the streets for "No Kings."

They did their part.

The people showed up at the polls on Tuesday.

They did their part.

8 Democrats in the Senate surrendered last night.

They did not do their part.

We are headed toward martial law and the end of our democracy and I will never forgive the people in power who every step of the way told us it was all just fine and everything would work out swell as long as we kept pretending that nothing we have actually seen with our own two eyes was happening

There will be another 60 vote Friday* on the garbage shutdown deal. If we can convince just one Senator from the 52 republicans and 8 Dems that voted yes to flip, we could still stop this. Please jump on the phone today, call them, and share this widely.

*If all goes by the regular schedule

No, no, no. Senate Democrats secured the concepts of a plan for a handshake for a promise to hold a vote they will lose.
Dems have spent the past two months saying they're fighting to address the crisis of spiking healthcare costs and now they're caving for a deal that does nothing to address healthcare costs ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I’m old enough to remember when the New Hampshire House passed a repeal of the death penalty and then-governor Jeanne Shaheen vetoed it because she wanted to become a Senator.

And she became a Senator so she could betray her party, her region and progressive values in DC just as she did in Concord.

If Democrats had held out for just 12 more hours, they would have seen that Trump was going to be FORCED to fund SNAP and that that should not have been the centerpiece of a negotiation to betray 40 million Americans on healthcare

I was the guest who "flat out" last night on MSNBC said this has to be the end of Chuck Schumer as Democratic leader of the Senate. We were on live when news of the deal broke and how Schumer barely was part of the talks and he could not hold the Democrats together.

81% of the Democratic base in a poll last week said Congress should “refuse to approve a budget unless it includes extending these tax credits, even if it means the government remains shut down.” But even 81% of the Dem base is not enough to get all Senate Democrats on board. #Pathetic

If Schumer votes AGAINST this but enough Ds vote FOR it that it passes, he needs to RESIGN immediately.

He will have shown himself to be absolutely ineffective as a minority leader. He has to go.

Literally resign tonight.

Hey @schumer.senate.gov, do not sell out to the republicans. The people know who is responsible for the shut down. Do. Not. Cave. Really don't cause the people will be pissed and you will not be re-elected nor will any other dem that caves.

Even the senators who are retiring and think they won't have to face the wrath of furious Democratic voters should know that their last name is about to become so toxic that not even a goddamn nonprofit is going to want you on the board.
I think Senate folders are significantly underestimating how fucking angry Democratic voters are at them
