The level of incompetence with the budget is historic. In all of Vancouver history no one has raised taxes more than Ken Sim in a 4 year period. What’s the reward for the taxpayer’s investment… record historic cuts.
Everyone’s property tax bill will go up this year. Ken Sim and ABC are increasing utility fees, user fees, and business permit fees. But worse, they have been cutting frontline services while spending money on back-office consultants and analysts.

Vancouver has the highest number of artists per capita in Canada. Artists are critical to our tourism sector and creative digital industries.

✅ Protecting artists’ spaces is critical to our economy, which is why we will deliver North America’s first Artist Land Reserve.

Today on National Indigenous Veterans Day I hold deep reverence for Indigenous veterans and service members whose sacrifices too often went unrecognized.

Their courage service and leadership have shaped this country yet they were met with inequity in return.

I honour them today and every day.

My dog Oliver has been speaking to his friends. They have a message for Ken Sim and ABC. Vancouver Liberals will stand up for our four-legged pals.

Turn up the volume and enjoy the song.

ABC recklessness with the Vancouver budget means cuts to services to people. While Ken Sim fires 400 frontline staff (and counting), Vancouver Liberals will hire 400 new frontline staff for our libraries, our parks and streets ON DAY ONE. @cupebc.bsky.social @cupe391.bsky.social
From potholes, parks, and missed garbage pick up. Vancouver deserves better.

Quality city upkeep and great city services start with front-line workers.

On day one a Vancouver Liberal govt will requisition 400 new front-line CUPE workers to get things back on track.

I’m disappointed to hear Commissioner Haer’s comments challenging the use of land acknowledgements. These acknowledgements are not performative to me. They are one small daily practice that flows from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action and from the principles of UNDRIP.

Without an elected Park Board no one would know about Ken’s cuts. This is why he wanted us gone.

Welcome to Ken’s dirty, closed, no-fun Vancouver!

Some breaking news: in a special Vancouver Police Board meeting only announced over the weekend, the police board has requested a $50 million increase to their budget for 2026.

This comes as other departments across the city are trying to cut staff to ensure a property tax freeze for next year.

Scary but true: Vancouver is about to become Canada's rat infestation capital. Rats spread disease. We can't ignore this any longer. Happy Halloween! 👻🎃

Allam said he believed in the “great Canadian social contract” in which the 46-year-old’s generation is supposed to create “the winning conditions” for the next generation.

Thanks for the write up Mike and the great photo Rob.

I’m happy to hear the Park Board has been saved. Three years ago, I was told by Ken Sim it was a done deal and would be gone by January. I left my party over this and worked to ensure the Park Board was protected until people could vote. It’s been a long three years, but worth it. 🌳💚
🚨 PARK BOARD NEWS 🚨

I've been told that the B.C. government WILL BE RETRACTING its bill to allow Vancouver to hold a referendum to get rid of the park board.

It might return next year, but I understand more work is needed re: disputes with Sim, and further consultations with First Nations.
