I'm raising money for Breakthrough T1D (new name for JDRF) to change the lives of people with type 1 diabetes.

We appreciate any support. This funding aids T1D research, which is even more important now with the uncertainty surrounding traditional research funding mechanisms.

Beta cells intrinsically sense and limit their secretory activity via mTORC1-RhoA signaling
Krell et al. show that mTORC1 in β cells acts as an activity sensor, activated by the same signals that trigger insulin secretion. This activation, in turn, inhibits insulin release via RhoA-dependent...

Paradoxically, both GIPR agonism and antagonism potentiate weight loss when paired with GLP-1R agonism. Two new studies in @natmetabolism.nature.com decode the different neural mechanisms employed by each strategy.

Ok scientists & those who love science 🧪: here is another exhortation. Call Congress TODAY about the freeze on NIH Council Meetings and Study Sections. Emphasize that this means NO new grants are being funded & labs will soon start to shut down and fire employees. Phone numbers are at:

Reminder: You can always submit a grant late and include a cover letter saying why. NIH receipt and referral may take it. Or not. If you end up missing deadline because of these Commons access issues, there is this potential save move.
