At one point, the right wing press printed a story that 1000+ families were part of a law suit over Tavistock referrals for puberty blockers.

The only slight problem was that at that point, there hadn't even been a thousand kids referred.

OK so maybe a bigger problem was it was all MADE UP.

Just in case you thought this was about trans athletes. This was solely about creating a fascist and racist gender bureaucracy over what constitutes being feminine enough to be considered a woman.

They're targeting cis women who may be intersex and banning them from sport.

This makes my skin crawl to read. Just so deeply embarrassing out infuriating. Print this out and mail it to your reps. Read it to them on their voicemails. They all need to feel unimaginable shame until they finally grow the collective spine to - at the very least - call for new leadership.

first rewatch impressions

Huerta and McClernon were dealing, McCammon struggled, and if Dahlien was more than 30 minutes fit we HAD to find a way to get her on sooner than we did, so much tilted our way after she checked in

really reinforcing my view that the Reign were unlucky in this one
going to start intensive notetaking for the final match valkyratings for the season tomorrow.

we'll have a couple retrospectives/followups after that, too, probably. at least one, maybe more if I can't fit everything that deserves said about this season into 3500 works or so.

Dickey should be GK, but I feel like Bloomer and Smith are snubs here.

Coffey, Howell seem like wild oversights in Midfield.

Temwa's the MVP, lol. KC with Temwa ran roughshod over the field, KC without Temwa was both beatable and beaten multiple times.
#NWSL awards season shenanigans is an annual tradition, and the Midfielder of the Year shortlist having NEITHER Taylor Flint NOR Sam Coffey is egregious, baffling stuff.

It’s really important that #Vancouver’s Downtown Business Association, who were originally against bike-lanes, are now among their most vigourous supporters, because of ACTUAL EVIDENCE that they’re better for downtown business than any street parking they replaced.

Safe bike-lanes mean business.

and like, to be clear, I would far prefer single elimination. if the Sounders lost in PKs after the 0-0 first match then sure.

playing a team three times is awful to start with. astonishing we chose this after agonizing for years about *two legged ties* being momentum killers.
Sounders gotta be able to close that match out and would be through if they could’ve avoided self-inflicting eighty thousand fuckups, but…

a team winning zero of three games and then advancing would be the death knell for this idiotic playoff format in a remotely sensible league

Ok, one more take.

This never felt like our year in MLS to me. Just wasnt there.

Leagues Cup and the CCL berth made up for a lot of that.

There will be some pretty significant changes in the off-season I'm sure, and it won't be long until we're back at it.

But still. Balls.

One of the kindest most beautiful humans you can ever be blessed to work with and meet. We are so lucky here in Seattle and I hope other people see how much it means to have a player stay with a club -a club that has literally been through EVERYTHING - for their entire career.
Lauren Barnes played her last pro game tonight: 252 #NWSL regular season appearances, 21,000+ minutes -- the only player to ever achieve either, and she did it entirely in Seattle. End of an era.
Lu leaving for the last time... 💙
