I think I’ve figured it out. Trump himself is deeply involved in international drug trafficking and he’s using the US military to target his competitors while using his pardoning power to benefit his business partners. It’s the only scenario in which this all makes sense.

If Canada invaded the United States, waging a brutal war where they daily bombed & committed atrocities against American civilians, then China attempted to broker a peace where the US would give up a fifth of its land & its mineral resources to Chinese oligarchs, would that be a good deal? /1

So, reading between the lines of all of this, Mark Kelly et al clearly got wind of this specific thing just a little before it came out publicly and shrewdly figured theyd exploit what was going to be a festering wound for the administration by messaging about illegal orders, right?
