Fun fact: “politically correct” originated as a Soviet phrase that literally meant the party line. To not be politically correct meant risking death or the gulags. The US Right co-opted the term to imply that politely asking people to use kind language was violent and dangerous, akin to the USSR.

Spoiler alert -- Bond movies don't actually have a canon.

To hell with this "007 is just a codename" crap, we're ready for the first occult James Bond movie where a necromancer brings him back from the dead

Someone clearly hasn’t paid attention to Bond for a while. Casino Royal is explicit about it being Bond’s first mission as a 00 and opens with his first two kills. It’s a soft reboot that ignores all the Bonds before it. That would be so easy to do again.
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

🚨 Tim Kaine is saying the quiet part out loud - underscoring why anyone shouldn't be satisfied with any of the "no" statements or posts from Dem Senators.

If Dem Senators are truly disgusted with this save they should be calling on #SurrenderSchumer to step aside as the Leader immediately.

This whole thread is essentially just “pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.”

Yeah bud, we get it. You and your party would be a whole helluva lot happier if people ignored the role you’ve played in enabling our descent into authoritarianism. That’s not gonna happen.
Many feel betrayal and frustration, and the feelings are hot right now.

I get it. I have my own feelings.

It’s gonna be the bleakest joke of all when the vote that Democrats “won” in this capitulation is not only not helpful to those without secure healthcare but actually rips what little of the ACA remains into little pieces for a shitty health savings account.

Seriously. Tell them no more election dollars until they jettison Schumer/Durbin and elect new leadership.
Fuck calling your representatives. Email and call the DSCC and tell them you won’t be donating to Democrats moving forward because of this. They only care about their money anyways. www.dscc.org/contact/

The most important elections next year aren’t in November. They’re in March and May. Find your primary and mark it on your calendar. It doesn’t matter if you vote in November 2026 if the Democrat is a Vichy coward.

The death of the Democratic Party is its obsession with scoring political points instead of political victories.

This whole article is pathetic. He essentially inadvertently lays out that the citizens of Chicago are doing more to protect their families and neighbors than he is. Maybe Dick should actually do something. Hell, he could resign early.

Also there’s a wish? This is feeling very Long Walk meets The Purge
Why didn’t any of you tell me Pokemon ZA had the purge in it? Apparently at night there’s purge zones where you can murder hapless trainers and their little friends?

Maybe important to note it was the disruption in air travel that Democrats couldn't stand and not, you know, 40+ million people not knowing where their next meal was coming from.

The original Dem demands were:
1) Permanent ACA subsidies
2) Medicaid funding restored
3) No more blank checks for the regime (rescission)

They dropped Medicaid immediately. Went silent on rescission. Cut back to 1 year of subsidies on Friday. And surrendered today.

I’m so fuckin’ pissed @durbin.senate.gov. I know there’s nothing I can ever do to pay you back for this betrayal. You’ll wander off to FL/AZ, pockets stuffed with cash, & pretend you served this state. But by god, if I ever run into you I will unleash a tongue lashing the likes you’ve never heard.
He’s going to vote with the president and then beat a path out of town with his pockets full of ill-gotten insider trading millions of dollars.

Let @durbin.senate.gov’s ghoulish cowardice be his legacy.

Which isn’t much of a consolation prize, but it’s what I’ve got right now.
Durbin is a YES on this deal: “At Democrats’ urging, today’s bill is not the same one we’ve voted down 14 times. Republicans finally woke up and realized their Groundhog Day needed to end. This bill is not perfect, but it takes important steps to reduce their shutdown’s hurt.”
