i actually just re-read this one i liked it so much. if you ever wished the keanu reeves Constantine movie was set in rural france on the eve of the revolution--
I just finished The Red Winter by Cameron Sullivan, which was a lot of fun!

A monster thought banished has returned to wreak havoc in 18thC France, and one immortal long-suffering sorcerer/professor, posessed by a snarky demon, is bound to help.

Dark, queer, lusty, and astonishingly a debut!

I just started Anna Cowen's queer, alternative history romance novel THE DUKE (out 4.28.26) for my next read and oh.

Oh no.

My destruction is assured and imminent.

Started ER from the beginning a while back and would just like to say that I would commit actual homicide for Susan's apartment.

I advocated for myself tonight and I'm really proud of me for it. I had a rough 24hrs and was not feeling up to being on camera for my 2.5 hour zoom lecture. Just the thought made it feel like my brain had a sugarcoating of prickleburrs.

HQN killing their historical romance line, a line that's been running for decades, is a damn tragedy. These were some of the first romances I ever read, and this whole thing makes me horribly sad.
OK, I think I'm done word vomiting my feelings and tinkering with this post. Little Miss Crabby Pants breaks her chains, escapes her attic room and talks about the closing of the Harlequin Historical line wendythesuperlibrarian.blogspot.com/2026/02/pour... #RomBkBlog #Romancelandia

I want to read Heated Rivalry. I do.

But I also know that means going to my local indie, buying a copy, and inevitably making eye contact with the cashier at check out all the while knowing that SHE knows it's because I've been watching the sexy hockey show.

We don't talk about it. But she knows.

I'm rewatching Bridgerton before diving into the new season and I completely forgot that Violet kicked off the season 2 shenanigans by loudly announcing to a full ballroom that Anthony was on the market.

Diabolical. Savage, really.

Bluesky flagged the cover of my book. 😆 Oh Bluesky, you sad byproduct of this puritanical hellscape.
I also finished this brick of a book. About which I will simply say that it is always interesting to watch Sade really latch onto and gnaw on a theme while simultaneously delivering the most unhinged Gothic plot you've ever had the pleasure (misfortune? 😅) of reading.

A friend with Project HOME in Maine is asking for urgent help.

With ICE descending on neighborhoods, people are afraid to go to work—cutting off income and putting families at immediate risk of eviction.

This is a solidarity fund: 100% of donations go straight to rent.

“Now, the volunteers in Maine say federal agents have started showing up at their homes and intimidating them or threatening arrest. Some of them, masked and wearing tactical gear, have issued stark warnings not to follow them.”
Why is the msm outside of Maine not covering this? It seems like a huge and very troubling story to me. ICE coming to observers houses or calling them on the phone warning them to back off??!! www.pressherald.com/2026/01/23/i...

Meanwhile, in the town of Willmar, ICE agents had lunch at a Mexican restaurant, waited until it closed, then confronted and arrested three workers as they left.
