i'm crying why is this so funny
Had a dream that there was global panic about the world running out of oxygen, Nintendo was the only video game company to make a statement about it, and the internet collectively spent its final hours on Earth debating whether Nintendo was being genuine or not

Genuine question, and I’m not suggesting Swolesome hasn’t seen this: what cis people are saying Newsom is better for trans people and on what basis? I’ve disliked Newsom on vibes and shallow politics for a while, but how shit he is trans issues first made it clear that Newsom is a no go.
To every cis person glazing Gavin Newsom by insisting he’s “better for trans people” when the primaries haven’t even happened yet: Fuck you.

Ignoring our warnings that Newsom is a transphobic billionaire puppet is bad enough but leveraging our struggles to defend him? Seriously, fuck you.

the very idea of gavin newsom in 2028 is preposterous. he's a throwback to the time where you could put a haircut in a suit and have him mouth platitudes while the status quo grinds on. we're so far past that. we got pedophile nazis now. lol that you want to reanimate dan quayle

why even have democrats
22 House Democrats (including some surprising ones!) just joined Republicans to vote to allow domestic abusers to buy tasers.

Sam's recent output is like a warm blanket and a call to action at the same time.

Everything can be alright, if we make it alright.

this may be the single most insufferable thing about the radical centrist caucus - not just extending good faith to obviously bad faith people but demanding everyone else do the same and chiding them when they don’t
A lot of our political discourse would be easier if we didn't extend good faith to people who would never extend it back.

Civility politics is people with no values defending their values by telling people to use fewer words to improve their vocabulary.

Scold *up.* When dems run candidates who don’t suck, they win. The DNC has no interest in doing this.

Three weeks from now Newsom will have Nick Fuentes on his podcast and agree with him about every single thing and this person will tell us to vote for him anyway.
One thing many people refuse to understand is that voting for Kamala Harris doesn’t excuse you for telling everyone she sucks and convincing others not to vote for her

USian trans people aren't telling you they won't vote for Gavin Newsom to cause you distress and despair.

USian trans people are telling you they won't vote for Gavin Newsom so you don't vote for his transphobic ass in the primaries.

They are giving you actionable information.

The California State University system spent $16.9 million last year giving ChatGPT to all students, faculty, and staff. We are asking the CSU chancellor not to renew the contract with OpenAI when it expires.

Anyone can sign the petition — link below!
The CSU/OpenAI contract is set to expire June 30, 2026.

Sign this petition: https://actionnetwork.org/petitions/cancel-chatgpt-edu-invest-in-humans/ for the CSU NOT to renew the contract and to use the savings to protect jobs at CSU campuses facing layoffs.
