Whenever you make an exclusionary choice in a video game, you are abandoning unseen strands of narrative; this is important because, in many cases, what holds the narrative together is the gravity of the "dark matter" of roads not taken. Choices matter because they occlude "wasted" content.

its too bad that social media likes are probably one of top drivers of the decline in internet quality because theyre such a nice way to show you care about or are interested in what someone is saying without having to reply some trite garbage

Some transgender people see only darkness in front and behind them.

The current climate is especially accelerating this.

Transgender people just want to love the people they love and live their lives as themselves.

and rules like that are sensible and have widespread appeal, but they kind of flatten out the texture of games, and if you spend a truly unreasonable amount of time playing games, games that break those rules start to feel exciting

conclusion: don't play video games for more than one hour a week

it's frustrating when, for example, in a platformer, there's a really hard jump right at the end of the level. so you can come up with game design rules like don't put hard jumps at the end of the level, put something that looks scary but is actually easy to make the player feel good, etc.

I also think that in games that are designed thoughtfully around runbacks, you'll pick up new details about the aesthetics and design of the levels each time. And there will be new things to experiment with and improvise on with repeated playthroughs.
