I had a hard time letting go of my decade+ Twitter posts (nostalgia?) so I used blueark to move them here (thanks to @janefriedman.com 's Electric Speed newsletter!) It cost $5.00 and the only hitch was that apparently, all the posts got dated yesterday? Sorry if I accidentally flooded your feed!!!

My friends & family who work in Lewiston are safe and sound, our schools are closed, and we’re all just hunkered down waiting for news, but I think I’ll take a break from the socials for a while. Sending love to all my friends! ❤️

Authors, if you think Scholastic's "separate but equal" book fair plan is, perhaps, a BAD idea, please consider signing this open letter to them about it:

Thank you to Tegan Beese for showing precisely how dishonest and cowardly Scholastic is being, both with their decision to segregated the books, and their statements justifying that segregation www.instagram.com/reel/CxvzRC-...

I love it so much when authors you admire are also people you admire. This took guts and heart. Thank you, Molly.

PSA: the McCloskey exhibit at the Brunswick, #Maine public library ends this month. It's worth the drive, and the leaves are gorgeous right now, too!
February 1, 2025 at 11:51 PM
If you're coming to #Maine for leaf-peeping (you should!) be sure to stop by Brunswick to see the Robert McCloskey exhibit at the public library (ends Oct 29). I love seeing the sketches and process behind final art!

Virtual author visits are a great way to jumpstart student projects & build enthusiasm for oft-dreaded tasks (like revision). This year, I've built a new easy-peasy calendar & opened up a few *limited* dates...hope to see you soon! #teachers #librarians...

Bad news: we watched Reservation Dogs as slowly as possible to make it last, but now it's over 😞

Good news: Our Flag Means Death is back 🤸‍♂️🤸🤸‍♀️

Bottom line: I'm so grateful for excellent storytelling ❤️

What should I queue up next?

It's good to remember what it feels like to be a student. Today, I need to take a timed test in something I've studied, taught, and generally know very well... yet I don't want to start it bc what if I actually *don't* know the things I'm pretty sure I know or I blank or I have to pee or...? Blerg.
