PSA: the McCloskey exhibit at the Brunswick, #Maine public library ends this month. It's worth the drive, and the leaves are gorgeous right now, too!
February 1, 2025 at 11:51 PM
If you're coming to #Maine for leaf-peeping (you should!) be sure to stop by Brunswick to see the Robert McCloskey exhibit at the public library (ends Oct 29). I love seeing the sketches and process behind final art!

Virtual author visits are a great way to jumpstart student projects & build enthusiasm for oft-dreaded tasks (like revision). This year, I've built a new easy-peasy calendar & opened up a few *limited* dates...hope to see you soon! #teachers #librarians...

Virtual author visits are a fun way to kickstart student projects & build enthusiasm for tough tasks (idea-generation, revision). This year, I've built an easy-peasy calendar & opened up a few *limited* dates for #teachers & #Librarians. Pass it on!...

I'm finally starting to understand feeds! 🤣 For those who need extra help (like me)... If you click the gear on the top right, you can search for feeds and pin them!

In case it's helpful, here are the kidlit feeds I've found. Let me know if there are others I should add!

Do you have tools that help you with overwhelm mode? My go-to apps are FocusMe, Forest, and WaterDo.

I'm turning them on now, but if you have suggestions, post them here and I'll see them after my tree has grown. 😜

I'm finally working my way through books that piled up during the pandemic, and I knew this one was going to be good, but 🥰🥰🥰

Any of my #teacher and #librarian friends have feelings about the Lindamood Bell literacy program? Things that work well? Challenges? Misc? I'm doing training for my new day job and would love any tips or thoughts.

The September @librofm Kid's Club Sale list is out and it's full of good stuff: FABLED STABLES series @JonathanAuxier, SOUL FOOD SUNDAY @ArmyVet5 Winsome Bingham, LIKE VANESSA by @TamiWritesStuff, not to mention multiple books by @jamiesumner_ , @rajanilarocca, and @yuyimorales!

It's that inevitable moment in September when I've been having trouble prioritizing tasks and decide all my problems could be fixed if I spend HOURS looking for a new planner and then decide the one I have is just fine. Happens. Every. Year.

This is an experiment. On BSky I posted about how much darker the original Italian Pinocchio is from Disney Technicolor, and the images I posted got flagged with a graphic warning in case people didn't want to see them. Which TBH I thought was humane. Curious what happens here.

I'm practicing my Italian by reading the original Pinocchio and holy smokes this is NOT Disney Technicolor.

Hello my #MiddleGrade friends. It's time for a fresh start! I'm ready to learn a new thing. Let's see if I can use a .gif in this new place, shall we?

Gotta admire the tenacity, but the squirrel in my backyard does this ALL day long. It's starting to feel suspiciously like a metaphor for life in a publishing career. 🤣 #amwriting

I always sleep through #MGBookChat but woke up this morning to a great discussion on grief & pain in MG. My books are funny, fun adventures, but there IS pain: friendship, loss, financial stress. That's life. My goal is to fill readers with enough hope & love to tip the balance.
