Just received this photo from a friend of a warehouse in Kinshasa. These are tuberculosis medications--ALREADY PAID FOR--that aren't being distributed due to the Trump Administration's stop work order.
TB treatment is being interrupted in SO many patients around the world. What does that mean? (1/2)

Remember the early years of the pandemic? The man hiring Bhattacharya pushed the use of Hydroxychloroquine, now linked to 17,000 deaths. Bhattacharya's Great Barrington Declaration was denounced by The Infectious Diseases Society of America’s 12,000 front-line infectious diseases scientists.

Journalists, Dr. Jay Bhattachayra wanted to maximize infections in unvaccinated people under 70 or so, because he thought this would lead to herd immunity in 3-6 months.

Not telling this to readers is to misinform them.

Plenty more examples are available.

Your regular reminder that the COVID pandemic is NOT over. Please use language accordingly. Don’t refer to ‘during the pandemic’ or ‘post-COVID’ or ‘since COVID’. We are still in the thick of it - wave after wave. People are still dying or becoming disabled from Long COVID

I think viral load matters.

Masking when you can, instead of not at all. N95ing when you can, instead of just the blue splashguard masks. Running a HEPA on whatever setting you can tolerate. Opening a window. Shooing away people who want to play coughinyourface.

Less virus is less virus.

Absolutely superb piece on H5N1 in the US.

'One highly respected American virologist, David O’Connor, told me that “it seems that the United States is addicted to gambling with H5N1. But if you gamble long enough, the virus may hit a jackpot.” A jackpot for the virus would fuel a global pandemic'.

“At all levels of healthcare, efforts must be made to encourage vaccination education and legislation to protect the public’s health”.

A colleague and I published a paper in 2012 on the dangers of vaccine exemptions for school entry. This was our conclusion.

Implications of philosophical and personal belief exemptions on re-emergence of vaccine-preventable disease: The role of spatial clustering in under-vaccination
Vaccine exemption policies vary by state, and it has been demonstrated that easier protocols for personal/ philosophical belief exemptions are associated with lower vaccine coverage at the state le...

I love this!
I inherited my mother’s copy of Dr. Spock. It was her bible for child rearing. He is largely forgotten but the 1st page is still golden and I still unashamedly steal his insight when talking to new parents. 🥰

Covid depletes cells that are key to the immune system and getting covid regularly means you'll be sick more often and this will not strengthen your immune system it will progressively weaken it and you'll end up dying younger. You were lied to because you had to get back to work

Perhaps more people will believe this now that The Economist has indicated through modelling the excess death during the pandemic is more like 27 MILLION?
The Economist’s model on excess death during the pandemic says the number is more like 27 MILLION.
That’s equivalent to the entire population of Australia.
“The official # is 7M globally, but this is a number frozen in time since late 2022/23. How big could it really be?
The Economist built a model to est excess covid death which says the death toll might be close to 4 times ⬆️ than the official count, around 27M”

If you vote for PP in the next election in CAN in 2025, expect mass layoffs with his cuts, because it will happen, it has happened with every other CON PM, look at history, they make cuts to social programs, & services across the country. Voting for him because you hate the other, is just laziness.

Traveled the world, had to be vaccinated to get in.

Worked in hospitals, had be vaccinated.

The difference now?

Get updated on all vaccines and for goodness sake, vaccinate your children.

Something to think about. I'm still in both places as I am a small account so don't get the grief the big accounts do. Like being able to chat with some long time people I follow.
Still seeing many of you saying you quit Twitter. I would like to once again encourage that you just turn on the privacy swith (lock it) and park it. After 30 days of deactivation your handle is up for grabs and we have seen people steal them and wreak havoc in someone else's name. Just consider it.
