Tonight, the President of the United States has launched an unconstitutional war of aggression, dooming another generation to spill their blood for oil, and lay waste to a sovereign nation.

I demand that Congress exercise its power, halt this conflict, and impeach this war criminal president.

he does not, however, have magic powers.

you don't HAVE to go into the cornfield just because he says so, you know?

Masks stop the flu too
The flu just likes to mutate
When it finds a new host it gets to replicate
And it's rolling the dice
Switching its chromosomes around to see what happens
Some changes meh
Some changes make it stronger
And every new case is a new opportunity
Don't go helping the virus
(Same for Covid, remember that)
And nationally this flu season, per NPR

"To date, the CDC estimates at least 7.5 million people have been sickened, and over 3,100 people have died from the flu"

I also love America and believe in its stated values.

And I understand that this pronouncement lands very differently when it comes from an organization that has intentionally been overhauled in order to curry favor with a jingoistic proto-fascist who says his opponents hate the country.
Incredible. CBS Evening News announces five new “simple values” — instead of their “38-page handbook” — as they roll out Tony Dokoupil is lead anchor.

One of those values is simply: “We love America and make no apologies for saying so.”

Unless I'm missing something, and I'm pretty sure I'm not, Twitter's AI is cranking out CSAM deepfakes, Elon Musk is making jokes about it, and nobody is doing anything to stop it or hold anyone at Twitter accountable for its creation and distribution.

Is that right?

Grok can't apologize. Grok can, when prompted, generate a word sequence that is statistically similar to the colloquial phrases we think of as "apologies," but Grok cannot actually apologize because Grok isn't sentient. But we all have a lot of trouble with this because we assume sentience IS speech

I was wondering why their is so much random racist discourse on Somalis on the TL rn but oh it’s election season for governor rn lol

Grok gave no further details"

I'm sorry but what the fuck is this?

Why is Grok being quoted as if

1. It's a real person and

2. As it has the authority to be an official spokesperson for the company?
"Elon Musk's xAI artificial intelligence chatbot Grok said on Friday lapses in safeguards had resulted in "images depicting minors in minimal clothing" on social media platform X and that improvements were being made to prevent this."

@kenwhite.bsky.social how would you feel having to explain to a jury why your client decided to disable easy searchability by third parties of outputs from your revenge porn generator while not actually turning off the revenge porn generator, whose replies are still being publicly churned out?
They did however disable the Media tab on Grok’s account so it’s harder to see what gross shit it’s generating for people.
