Dear Media;

The “Epstein files story” is a story about wealthy men (and at least one woman) colluding to rape, sexually abuse, and traffic children. It is not about emails & files, nor about politics or political strategies. It is about horrendous, sickening crimes.

Please report accurately.

Northern lights were different before phones & social media. You’d just be out at night in early winter, look toward the sky, and suddenly see the colors glow. It felt mesmerizing to be there alone, experiencing the rare beauty. You might call a friend when you got home, or tell people the next morn

The post was NOT expressing a desire to shoot anyone, it was referencing and critiquing a WSJ article about Johnny Cash being uncool, with a tongue-in-cheek quotation of a famous & ubiquitous Cash song lyric: “I shot a man in Reno, just to watch him die.” Everyone understands this context.
The account owner of @sarahkendzior.bsky.social was suspended for 72 hours for expressing a desire to shoot the author of an article. The post, made 11/10, stated: "I want to shoot the author of this article just to watch him die." 1/2

When they “Blitz” invade a city and neighborhoods repeatedly with armored vehicles, long guns, tear gas, pepper bullets, flash bang grenades, smoke bombs, etc, to kidnap and terrorize residents, they can expect that occasionally someone will shoot back.
BREAKING: Shots were fired at U.S. Border Patrol agents during immigration enforcement operations in Little Village Saturday afternoon, according to the Department of Homeland Security.

Well, this makes me even less likely to stop boycotting Target.

This would make me leave the store.
"Store employees are now required to smile if they are within 10 feet of a shopper.

They also must make eye contact with and wave to or greet the customer.

If they’re within four feet, the employee should ask how the customer’s day is going or if they need help."

🙄 Won't stop the boycott, y'all.
Target is now requiring its employees to smile more
As the holiday season fast approaches, Target is urging its employees to add a little more “jolly” to their work routine.

I love this writing about the temporal, emotional, and physical experiences of the game of baseball. In this era baseball essays and proclamations filled with numerical data, actuarial science, and statistics, this paragraph rings clear and true in my heart. This is the beauty of baseball.
Did not expect one of the best paragraphs I’d read about baseball would come from an Irish newspaper

Outside Chicago—

State police and sheriff's officers at Broadview detention center are out in riot gear.

A large Halloween demo is being prevented from doing a Jericho walk through the intersection.

Arrests of protesters ongoing. Troopers have also assaulted multiple reporters already.

In Albany Park, they fired pepper-spray balls and arrested U.S. citizens.

In Evanston, a weapon was repeatedly pointed at protesters.

They grabbed workers in Hoffman Estates, landscapers.

And house painters and laborers in Edison Park, Skokie and Niles.

“Feels like state-sponsored terror."
On Halloween, ‘state-sponsored terror’ in Chicago and the north suburbs
Despite pleas from Gov. JB Pritzker to pause federal immigration enforcement operations while children celebrate Halloween, Border Patrol agents tore through Chicago and the suburbs.

There is nothing the city or the state is doing to stop them. One gestapo wagon did a hit and run north of us after threatening to kill a witness and pointing his gun at them. No local cops followed them or will do anything to prevent this from happening again. They want to and will kill someone.

This morning in Albany Park, ICE / CBP violently abducted two people, used physical force against an elected official, & shot chemical weapons (pepper balls) at neighbors in violation of a federal court order. CPD showed up & cleared the way for ICE / CBP to leave the scene. Horrific & unacceptable.

This is a lie.
Kristi Noem: "No American citizens have been arrested or detained. We focus on those who are here illegally. And anything you would hear or report that would be different than that is simply not true and false reporting."

I’ve learned during this baseball postseason that most baseball people I follow on this app have very different experiences, thoughts, and responses about baseball than I do! 😂 Which is awesome. I’ve learned a lot about how other people experience, feel, and think about my favorite sport.

This is another JD Vance flat-out lie, presented as if it’s a known factual truism. As with all his lies, his goals are to rewrite history, create divisions in contemporary society, and promote white Christian supremacy
JD Vance claims that diversity weakens unions, as people end up distrusting each other and not organizing.

Let me tell you two menswear stories related to this claim. 🧵

People all over the country need to understand that federal agents are not in Chicago to prevent violence – they're in Chicago to cause violence.
(from the inbox) Less than an hour later this morning, just before 10:30 at Roscoe and Harding, feds again released gas as they were driving away, unobstructed, from a relatively small number of neighbors.

I do and teach creative work

Using AI as a creative tool has problems, including: AI never replies “I don’t know.” And it never knows when its answer is wrong

Not knowing is the catalyst of all creativity, and knowing what you’ve created is not right is a crucial in successful creative process

My World Series prediction is that neither owner will have to worry about how their performance or an injury might affect their future salary.

I also predict that both owners will dream of a not-so-distant future when all games are AI-generated, and they won’t have to pay any more player salaries

Hey MLB! The start of the World Series (featuring a SoCal team & a team in Canada) would be a great time to support & honor immigrant & migrant work in the US, especially because of how much MLB relies on immigrant & migrant workers for its success (~ 25%- 30% of MLB & MiLB players are foreign-born)

For fucks sake, people are losing jobs, families, lives. People are losing rights. People are losing opportunities. People are dying. The government is gleefully, openly destroying, stealing, and murdering

Neighbors witnessed Border Patrol agents arresting a man who's been building a new staircase on their building.

"Wait, this is private property," the woman recording says.

"No, it's not," the agent replies, covering his face with his jacket.
