This is what you get when people with terminal LinkedIn brain are in charge. They don’t have good ideas, they don’t have any ideas at all. The closest they come is copying ideas from the right and pretending that will placate reactionary voters. There is just nothing here.

The defining feature of the modern right is its vicious cruelty and the defining feature of the center-left is its complete vacuousness.

This isn’t cruel or mean spirited or…anything. It’s just what you get from people who are completely out of ideas. Wind whistling between their ears.

I love how the industry panelists talk about taking "politics" out of energy permitting. This is itself a political statement re: relationship btw/the public & private sectors. I.e., A demand by the energy industry to let them, not elected leaders or the public, control the future of energy.

Sen. Lummis (R-WY), now extolling the virtues of O&G horizontal drilling as less impactful than solar development. I.e., Republicans talk a big game about "all of the above" and "tech neutral" but still hate renewables. They use these terms to pull the wool over public's eyes & benefit O&G.

THIS INCLUDES TARGETING NATIVE AMERICANS.
I know you know this, but for folks who aren’t here:

ICE uses racial profiling and AI tools that “estimate” your chance of citizenship to decide who to detain. They often refuse to accept documentation of someone’s right to be in the U.S.—and may destroy it instead.

Senator Paul has done a very effective job just today of critiquing this administration’s lawless use of force both abroad and at home.
RAND PAUL: If a country bombed our air defense missiles, captured & removed our president, & blockaded our country, would that be considered an act of war?

RUBIO: We just don't believe this operation comes anywhere close to the constitutional definition

PAUL: Of course it would be an act of war!

I'm an ignorant and distant American, but I'm confused: is the Albertan separatist movement really hoping to establish an independent Alberta, or is it about accession to the US? It was my impression the premier was talking like it was the latter, but of course she might not be representative.

Anyway, their latest viral dispatch is via James O’Keefe who went “undercover” in Minnesota, posing as a guy with a girlfriend, and uncovered people saying “thank you, neighbor,” somebody smoking weed, and residents who didn’t want James O’Keefe in their neighborhood.
