I go from calm to panicky to sad, but am mostly detached.

She's an organ donor & will be on life support till Monday, when the surgeon is available. Memorial will be in April.

She was an atheist, but her family's Catholic, so she had Last Rites. I wonder what she would have thought of that.
CW: death. 🧵

I was visiting Dad yesterday when my cell rang, which is unusual, since I usually only text. It was one of my knitting peeps, so I answered.

There'd been an email that morning: another knitting friend had been in a car accident, but there were no details, just "she's in surgery." +

MUST. STOP.

I didn't realize I was so far behind in my thread, but this is ridiculous.

I hate being anal-retentive...

Sir Ian McKellen performing a monologue from Shakespeare’s Sir Thomas More on the Stephen Colbert show. Never have I heard this monologue performed with such a keen sense of prescience. Nor have I ever been in this exact historical moment.TY Sir Ian, for reaching us once again.

Good thread.

And if we believe that we can't face the truth of someone's bad behavior because we "built on his foundations," maybe we ought to reexamine the whole structure.
This is only related in a sideways manner, but: the story of any small slice of humanity is the story of humanity, just boiled down and distilled. So:

In 2020, we had a lot of conversations about harassment at SF/F conventions, and Isaac Asimov came up several times.
the Epstein files are really devastating because they remind me of how many girls and women miss out on professional opportunities, mentorship and careers because of how many powerful, rich and influential men only view girls and women — and interactions with them — through the lens of sex

THE LOOK OF BETRAYAL ON DIGIT'S FACE! 😭😂

Also, content warning: the segment of the German Shepherd's reunion w/owner is very jangly, camera-wise, so if you get motion sick easily, be warned.

This is Teddy. Despite his name, he is not actually a teddy bear that has come to life. Just happens to be an exceptionally soft and cute and cuddly little guy. 13/10 (IG: teddytheduke)

It’s fascinating that every time there’s research into trans women it comes back that we are women.

It’s almost like it’s true!

BTW, Gaiman is back on BlueSky, with an "exoneration" written by some anonymous "journalist" on Substack. Might want to make sure you're not still following him from before the mask came off. I've got him actively blocked now.

OMG, read the reviews!
"Melania" is the lowest rated tv or movie ever on IMDB.

Can't stop crying.

Of laughter.

Blocked.
Neil Gaiman has come out from under his rock, to the relief of the innocent creepy crawlies living there. If you already blocked him, please check you aren’t still following him. Unfollow first, then block, or else you’re still following.
It's a small thing but someone will be watching these metrics

Today I re-record "Ave Maria" and "The Trumpet Shall Sound" as well as "River" (bc I messed up the lyrics). This will Be It.

I am pretty sanguine now that I've lowered the classical pieces a half step. Run-throughs have been good.

Wish me luck!

So it's time for me to move to another platform to save images
