Watching THE FUGITIVE for the millionth time and just now noticing in the opening credits Julianne Moore gets fourth billing, ahead of Pantoliano, Jeroen Krabbe, and even the One-Armed Man himself Katsulas. Wonder if great agent or her part was bigger but got cut last minute.

Today's note of praise is for Nick Nolte's performance in NORTH DALLAS FORTY, the 1979 movie about professional football; I don't want to say that it's a great movie, because it isn't (although it's eye-opening in terms of, among much else, the Stone-Age level training compared to today's NFL...)
Going to try something as a new year's resolution: to attempt, on a daily basis, to post a note of praise for something I've read/seen/listened to and liked that day. Not promising I'll do it every single day, but will see how it goes!

Van Hollen has been much better than most Democrats, but once again, I am asking elected leaders to stop providing running commentary like a common pundit or beat reporter and instead tell *us* what to do about it or tell us what *they* are doing about it.
