Kind of incredible how the GOP just keeps killing incredibly useful and popular programs and people just shrug.

Scientists have just cured pancreatic cancer in some patients with personalized mRNA vaccines. Pancreatic cancer. And this Trump administration wants to throw it all away.

They’re throwing away a cure for cancer.

I'm convinced this is a genuine problem. The reality of Trump is so cartoonishly, comically awful that an absolutely neutral description sounds like a hit piece, even to me. So if you're at all predisposed to think of press as biased, factual reporting looks like some relentless vendetta.
feel like one problem of Trump is that describing him objectively sounds like you're insulting him

I wish more people knew about the 1920s Klan because they—perhaps more than European fascists—are the model for Trumpism.

This is a good summary and a nice reminder that they do a lot of damage, but in the end, fascists always lose.
In light of everything happening, I wrote about how the KKK in the 1920s felt unstoppable, about the people that fought against them anyway, and about how fascism always fails. dansinker.com/posts/202…

Seeing a lot of “But they don’t deserve…” And no, of course they don’t. What the fuck does that have to do with anything? The house is on fire. Pass a bucket to whoever wants to put it out. You can remind them what an ass they’ve been later.

My 2025 resolution is to be loud. To be the loudest, wildest version of myself I can be.

Let us all turn the volume up in the 2025.

Yup. And they are already driving into our communities to work. We've got their cars, we should welcome the rest of them too.

We just need more policy makers who get it.

I've worked retail and I've worked food service. It gave me a deep appreciation for how hard those jobs can be and it's an important perspective I think more people could use.

It especially bothers me how dismissive some folks are of those workers' right to be part of our community.

When I got asked to run the first time I worked retail

Talking to everyday folks about what they care about, understanding their problems and helping fix them are transferrable skills

We have a lot of residents navigating society on a retail wage. We need policy makers who understand and empathize
There’s this weird classism in tech where folks don’t want to admit they’ve worked retail

Nope

I was slanging iPhones on the front lines

I can’t do a damn thing with iOS right now but turn off ish I don’t want

But friendo

Folks ask how I “get” digital and I’m like .. experience

Seattleites, start contacting the Seattle City Council to end parking mandates. seattle.gov/council/meet...
Update from Shoreline City Hall: we didn’t get a full win on parking reform tonight. But Council voted 6-1 to move on this within 6 months after more “community input.”

Several CMs said that they’d heard a lot of support for parking reform and had “evolved” their thinking. Our advocacy is working!

We might need to retire in your hometown of Shoreline @loganb.bsky.social!
Shoreline is also poised to legalize commercial uses in residential zones across the entire city, allowing cafes, restaurants, brewpubs, markets, hardware stores and professional services pretty much everywhere outside of culs-de-sac. Not just on corner lots, with parking maximums in many cases.
