IT'S OFFICIAL: Shoreline (pop. 63,740) becomes the latest Washington city to fully eliminate all mandates for off-street parking in new development following a 6-0 vote just now.
This makes Shoreline the sixth city statewide and the largest city in King County to take this step in land use reform.

Policies that reduce driving are the best climate policies. Creative ideation is fine, but let’s double down on what we already know works
Telecommuting cut driving, preventing more emissions than Shoreline’s trees can ever sequester. Instead of more driving cuts, the Shoreline council focused on trees & compost sorting.

this is insane: Washington state is basically doing reverse congestion pricing, taxing sustainable/efficient forms of transportation to subsidize pointless highway widenings.
