Shoreline Mayor @electroberts.bsky.social signs the ordinance eliminating parking minimums in new developments citywide.

A huge win for housing affordability, climate, walkability, business & more!

Great to see so many residents speaking in favor, and a nice reminder that we CAN HAVE nice things!

A good and reasonable thing happened today 👑
IT'S OFFICIAL: Shoreline (pop. 63,740) becomes the latest Washington city to fully eliminate all mandates for off-street parking in new development following a 6-0 vote just now.

This makes Shoreline the sixth city statewide and the largest city in King County to take this step in land use reform.

Policies that reduce driving are the best climate policies. Creative ideation is fine, but let’s double down on what we already know works

Working hard over here to rebrand “road diet” (restrictive, subtractive) as “safety fattening” (abundant, additive) please help!

We’ll be talking street design and pedestrian safety in North City tomorrow night - come thru!

If we have to stand on the side of a highway as visible political support for much-needed and voter-approved public transit investments then that’s what we’ll do! LESS FUSS MORE BUS.

Up in Lake Forest Park this morning with transit advocates to support completion of Sound Transit's Stride bus rapid transit project along Bothell Way.

The project is facing a legal threat from opponents in LFP that could add years of delay.

Then onto Shoreline’s Hands Off rally - great turnout and good vibes.
Still getting used to the suburban rally modality of standing on a corner and having cars honk approvingly at you. Next time can we at least take the street??

Lovely day to support better public transit for Seattle, Shoreline, Lake Forest Park, Kenmore and Bothell!

Thanks to @transpochoices.bsky.social and @ceceliablack.bsky.social of Disability Rights Wa for speaking out in support!

Lots of important stuff happening tomorrow, April 5, but if you’re free at 10:30am we’ll be showing up w signs and chants to support the Stride S3 Bus Rapid Transit project that some locals in LFP have been threatening to sue to stop.

this is insane: Washington state is basically doing reverse congestion pricing, taxing sustainable/efficient forms of transportation to subsidize pointless highway widenings.

and this is a state with a democratic trifecta! what is going on here
Taxing buses and e-bikes to fund highway expansion projects is madness. And yet, that's what is being proposed.
If you expect better from the Washington State senate, fill out TCC's action alert right now ⬇️
The Senate transportation budgets contain things we love ($450 million for safety on main street highways!) and others we strongly oppose, like new taxes on buses and e-bikes. Join us in asking legislators to say "no" to these taxes.

Housing advocacy often reflects a generational rift. But @marciapeterson.bsky.social explains why more housing options will benefit all ages www.seattletimes.com/opinion/more...
More kinds of housing would help Seattle residents age in place | Op-Ed
Seattle should make changes in zoning and housing policies that allow for increased density and different types of homes in more neighborhoods.

Awesome to see @marciapeterson.bsky.social back in print with an appeal to her fellow boomer homeowners on why they should be pro-housing 💪💥
