50 years ago today, Nov. 10, 1975, the Edmund Fitzgerald sank beneath the waves of Lake Superior during a massive storm.
The sinking took the lives of all 29 men on the ship, and became immortalized in Gordon Lightfoot's song.
This is the story of this terrible tragedy.

Did you know that in Canada, if a budget doesn’t pass the government doesn’t shut down?

Federal workers aren’t furloughed.

Funding for social services doesn’t dry up.

Failure to pass a budget triggers an election.

It puts the politicians jobs on the line.

They get the budget passed.

A look back at the CDC's 2011 graphic novel on a "zombie pandemic." As the agency's systems are dismantled, the idea of a coordinated national response to a health emergency seems as fictional as zombies themselves.
Could today's CDC handle a zombie apocalypse?

Doug Ford, the premier of Ontario who ran the ad, is a member of the Conservative Party (as was his brother, the late Rob Ford who was mayor of Toronto).
So they didn’t like the ad. Let’s just post Reagan’s 5 min speech against tariffs as it appears on YouTube.

Over and over. On all platforms (some of y’all are still on X).

Things that are awesome in real life but never good in scary movies/tv shows:
white sheets on clotheslines…. children and anything to do with children (especially tricycles, rolling or bouncing balls and nurseries)…. claw foot tubs and shower curtains….. decorative wooden boxes…. small towns...

"In some places, French postal workers now pick up prescriptions, return library books, and deliver flowers. Last year, only twenty eight per cent of La Poste’s revenue came from sending mail."

Services can evolve in positive ways to meet new and growing needs.
For those who wonder what a modern postal service could look like, one example is in France, where letter carriers provide check-ins on the elderly for very affordable rates, while completing their routes.

I encourage everyone to read the whole thing

Also keeping in mind that we are a small country with limited stock, & provinces have been purchasing fewer doses because of the lower demand.

I have expanded on that below in these two slides. Point #4 in particular is relevant.

I feel so much for Americans, with the US restrict access to COVID-19 vaccines (whatever happened to choice?!!).

Many have asked about obtaining doses in Canada, but because we have a predominantly public pay system for the COVID-19 vaccines, it will be challenging.
