I keep seeing people say they want to know they are interacting with a human, and not a bot, ignoring that some of the biggest disinfo spreaders and trolls online are consistently operating under their own real names
The blue check thing is about clout chasing and totally antithetical to the open web. Just because an identity can be "verified" doesn't mean the account can be _trusted_, but the two are often conflated when you start adding those indicators.

I was washing my hands at the kitchen sink, suddenly got dizzy, and that's when I realized I'd been holding my breath for no reason! I was thinking too hard and forgot to breathe!

One good thing about today was learning that, despite living in the quagmire of violence we call America, I was not the only one who assumed the Cybertruck in front of the Trump hotel just spontaneously combusted. Took hours and a nap for it to occur to me that it could have been an intentional act.
