"It is small, and it is fragile, and it is the only thing in the world worth having. We must never lose it or give it away. We must never let them take it from us."
Just another example of how the UK government would rather strip away rights, which will overwhelmingly be felt by their political opponents, and reduce public services which is felt by everyone, than have their wealthy mates feel so much as a tiny pinch on their pockets.

What possible reason could there be to do this other than the people you've been dog whistling to are so pig shit thick they needed a clearer, more on the nose message.

Far-right appeasement only ever benefits fascists.

The Overton window is now firmly in far-right territory under Starmer and Mahmood. No far-right election wins needed, no winning of arguments, just a weak and unprincipled Labour Party, PM and Home Secretary.

I think we're going to see a concerted effort by the DUP to constantly ramp up animosity as they further tie themselves to the far right over the coming months and this is going to seem like an irrelevance in comparison to some of it.
DUP Deputy First Minister Emma Little-Pengelly has turned down an invitation to attend Catherine Connolly’s inauguration as Irish president.

It will be the first time since the signing of the Good Friday Agreement that a serving first or deputy first minister has not attended.

Fascinating that these far right are terrorists if UK says they are; same thugs rioting outside a refugee centre in West Dublin are ‘activists’ & ‘concerned locals’. They’re not linked, they’ll say. Unless of course you open Twitter & see them upload photos of themselves, together, at various riots!

In the coming years as Sudanese refugees start crossing borders to seek asylum, the same people who cry "what about Sudan!?" at anti genocide activists will be live-streaming themselves demanding papers from a Sudanese refugee who is walking the streets in boredom because he's not allowed to work.
Not only does the UK government waste vast sums of money on demonising those seeking asylum, now it appears that they are complicit in quite a number needing it in the first place. Choosing to save money over a genocide, again. #r4today

In this world, bottom feeding “citizen journalists” will spend the day ignoring this new info, continue on their racist narrative, while finding ways to mourn a war monger they’ve just heard of, all to fight the scarecrows in their heads
