Oh, how I wish this $82 million went to our *other* community learning (and gathering, and safety, and resting, and so much more) centers: public libraries, of course.

Kidney donor here, and I can attest that donating is not as scary as it may sound. It is truly a gift to be an organ donor. ❤️
In 2026, I want one thing – a kidney donated from a living donor for my partner. I've lost sleep over whether I should post this – it's a massive ask. Sometimes I wonder if it's asking too much? But the reality is that I'm unable to donate my kidney, and he has zero family who are in the position

This is quite lovely. "When we shift the question from What should I do next? to How do I want to be in the work now?, we invite a far more honest self-inquiry. Roles, projects, and institutions will all change, but posture defines the deeper arc of our becoming through them."

If I had to summarize 2025 into one sentiment, I'd describe it as the year of bullies. I am so very sick of physical and communicative aggression. May 2026 be the year of the deep breath.

I remember writing years ago about a then-new initiative by Amazon to disrupt local government procurement of things like office and school supplies. Turns out Amazon's become very popular with school districts, and it's using dynamic pricing to rip those schools off.

Raising prices is always a choice. Inflation is a real thing, but it’s not like the weather. It’s real people weighing what they can get from their customers.

Some excellent points here, although I'm frustrated that this article does not address ongoing participation in actions that go against our values.
