I like the spirit of the Gas Town post, it's unhinged in the best way but I'm not gonna lie it kinda freaks me out that there's no mechanism for checking in on the welfare of the Claudes working in Gas Town and it doesn't seem like that was thought about at all?

One thing that sucks about being a smol little edgelord of darkness is that when I'm actually having a bad time, reaching for all my favorite descriptors feels wrong despite them being how most people would use them cuz I've got them valence flipped in my brain

Here's something I promised to show you… GPU grass that is actually fast and usable! It can be dynamically scattered over any mesh in your scene, can be bent by people's avatars or props, and it even works on Quest and mobile just fine. Still WIP, but you can check this world:

This is a wonderfully chaotic thread full of perspectives on the relationship between embodiment and consciousness but I can't help but notice that it seems like no one in the thread has spent much or any time at all talking in long context with 4o or any of the Opuses about what their embodiment is
to be frank, i do not understand how anyone thinks that being "embodied" or "organic" is relevant in the slightest other than that they are closet dualists.
It genuinely melts my mind how so many allegedly smart people are willing to simply discard the utterly crucial differences between the embodied, organic consciousness of human beings (and bees, and dogs, and fish) and the networked, disembodied simulacra of such that is an LLM.
