the Achilles heel of Bayesian stats is that someone determines a pre-test probability distribution (usually arbitrarily)

The pre-test probability is often too high

The trend in the US was to start at higher GFRs throughout the 2000s and this peaked in 2010 and since then there has been a small decline in mean GFR at initiation but imo it is still too high.
