This is how I learned PTI is still on the air, rather than having ended like a decade ago, which I guess is what I assumed had happened.
ESPN's Michael Wilbon nonchalant about the federal indictments against two MLB players this morning:

"I don't care ... because at the highest levels of the pyramid in this country, of this culture, everybody's betting now."

This is my town, the block I grew up on. Last week it happened on the block where my family and I live now. My community is being terrorized by our government, and it sucks.

Clase absolutely sucked in the 2024 ALCS. Obviously that does not mean he was tanking, but it's reasonable to wonder now if there was anything going on.

College football fans decrying that their team should be ranked #1 comes off as very insecure. If your team wins the last game of the season, they will be #1. Don’t worry about it.

I‘m watching Used Cars (Robert Zemeckis, 1980), starring Kurt Russell, for the first time. I just spotted a Star Wars Easter egg that probably goes unnoticed by most viewers. See it?

Strange as it may seem, if you didn't already know it, but for years Teen Vogue has done some of the best reporting in the nation.

Its corporate overlords are ending that now, because corporate overlords don't want good reporting to exist.
I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.

certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.

My guess is the committee is stacked with guys who make sure Bonds and Clemens are apparently never in the conversation again, and depending on the specific makeup of the group, either Mattingly or Murphy gets in as a guy who “did it the right way”.
If this is indeed the ballot we see tomorrow, it’s worth noting that Bonds and Clemens could be facing permanent ineligibility if they fail to reach five votes (they both had <4 last time).

I was talking to a younger guy after Robert Redford died, and he didn’t know who I talking about at first, then said, ”Oh yeah, the old guy from Captain America: Winter Soldier.”
I think everybody has a “Wallace Shawn from Young Sheldon” — my first one would probably be “Vincent Price, the guy who did the voice of Ratigan in The Great Mouse Detective”

There is nothing more on-brand for our era that with a wonderful doctor available, people would instead go with some guy.
Absolutely massive, earth shattering news here

The White Sox posted this sign.
"Passive park." Sounds like a euphemism for a graveyard

Nine years ago, near the end of my years as a part-time baseball writer, my team lost Game 7 in extra innings. A couple weeks later, I wrote this.
The past I am borne back ceaselessly into
The afternoon before Game 5 of the World Series, I went for a run. The weekend before I had skipped the Frank Lloyd Wright Race, my ho...

My congratulations to all Baseball Perverts. It was their "super bowl" last night and it seems they all had a very bad time (in their culture that's how you have a good time)

In two separate incidents on two different days in the last week, people were taken on my block. One happened directly in front of my home. This shit sucks so much. If you can help Patrick’s neighbors, that would be rad.

100 likes for this post criticizing MLB during one of the greatest games in MLB history.

This place has the juice.
Commercials between pitches are yet another example of MLB’s continued enshittification.

Shohei Ohtani has played two seasons for not-the-Angels and won two World Series.

Aaron Judge has played ten seasons for not-the-Angels and never won a World Series.

The Yankees are no longer the last team to win back-to-back World Series, so we've got that going for us, which is nice.

The last Will Smith hit that big landed on Chris Rock.

Will Smith has caught more innings in a single World Series than anyone in history, and then he went and did that.

Bring in Kershaw for the save, you cowards.

The only other 11-inning Game 7 of the World Series in the last 100 years is what turned me into a massive sports pessimist.
