Quick Fredo's Game-Os aside: You don't really see the conversation about "Fake difficulty" in games so much these days, I guess partially because games have gotten easier and everyone wants to project coolguy mcbadass "heh get gud" energy but also because developers have adapted their designs

I think Blanka from street fighter is a really underrated character in terms of how he influenced future character designs. There are a ton of weird monster guys in many fighting games that probably wouldn't exist if not for capcom being like "hey let's make this guy green"

probably just my own personal bias here since I'm not as much of a rez fan as most people but I really think Mizuguchi's best stuff is the puzzle games: Lumines, Tetris Effect, and Meteos are amazing

I haven't played the new remake of Final Fantasy tactics but one of the all time funniest things from this game was how the old king guy dies in bed and does the same "AAAAAUUUUUGH" death scream as the units in battle
