BBC: "There is no suggestion that appearing on video ordering the destruction of an inhabited planet implies any wrongdoing, and many people who are featured in Star Wars have denied any wrongdoing in relation to Alderaan."

I once asked the Vatican Observatory how they decide on the Easter date every year and got a long reply. And I wasn't even a journalist.
Can confirm that being a journalist is occasionally very sick indeed.

Great to have a #TalksAtGoogle event in the office again, it's been a while. And the Map Men were fantastic guests, pretty much the only channel I smashed the bell icon for. #ThisWayUp

I can only recommend listening to the whole episode. Listening to a planespotter as he counts human beings in shackles as they're disappeared from their neighborhood & country so that at least their number is documented is just shocking, despite all the numbness from all the news coming from the US.
At Minneapolis airport, @maitlis.bsky.social watches on as shackled ICE deportees board an aircraft.

"It's one of the most dystopian, the most chilling things, I think i've ever witnessed."

"The plane doesn’t have a name or number, it’s a 'dark plane' - it doesn’t officially exist."

The thing with arguments by people on Twitter is they're arguments by people who are super ok with Nazi salutes and had almost a year to deteriorate further from there.

Good life advice.
Wish I could internalize this

I don't buy much "stuff" these days that could be digital instead, but I got weak with the beautiful special edition of Broken Sword.

The more I learned at uni about how chips are being made, the more baffled I was that we're able to make any chips at all. This video is a good example of the many technical challenges. youtu.be/MiUHjLxm3V0?...

Merry Christmas! Please enjoy the opening to this Japanese Christmas concert special that I watch every year.

As far as I can tell, this has otherwise been scrubbed from the internet

Punchdrunk has a new show out with Lander 23. Some really good bits, some underwhelming bits, but to me much more enjoyable than Burnt City. #immersive

I wrote the @adventuretreff.bsky.social puzzle advent calendar 6 years in a row. When I stopped, the community took over and continued making it. It's now in its 20th year. Proud of what I started, and grateful to the incredible community! #puzzles

There are many aspects to the budget but the biggest sign that it can't be too bad overall is how silly the attacks of the right-wing press are.
Wow - this guy must be really, REALLY bad with money if an extra £208 per month will “ruin” his retirement.

Let’s take a look at his situation based on what he told the @Telegraph

Because this does NOT add up!

No, this is not a “poor pensioner” scrabbling around for pennies…
