It's almost time. Have you missed us!?

We are ready for Sunday.
January 22, 2026 at 12:15 AM
We return on Sunday with episode 7, 'Hurt The Ones You Love'. Hugh recalls a past case, spends some time ill in bed, goes to see Andre in a live event, and overhears something in his own home which raises all sorts of questions.
January 20, 2026 at 6:10 PM
Episodes 7 and 8 are slightly longer and a bit more intense, I can tell you that much.
January 15, 2026 at 10:42 PM
By the way, if you get the podcast on a platform where it is possible to subscribe, and you haven't already, that would really help, thank you! Same with reviews.

I'D HATE TO HAVE TO MURDER YOU.

No. We agreed we wouldn't go with that angle.

This has again been our biggest ever day of downloads! Again, only competing with our own previous episodes so probably still not getting as many as Joe Rogan. But it's nice that it's building every week; thank you.
January 4, 2026 at 10:46 PM
Episode 6 is all ready to go. This episode is the richest so far in terms of clues, but also red herrings. It brings us to the end of this first tranche of episodes. Do listen tomorrow if you can. Or whenever you want actually.

Episode five is out and you have been downloading in your droves*. Hope you enjoyed the sound on this one. 👀

*Marginally more people than this time last week

Hope everyone had a nice, suspicious-death-free Christmas Day. Thanks to the supreme efforts of our tiny team, episode five - Rollercoaster - will be out at the usual time. We're off to the funeral hoping to talk to several persons of interest.
December 26, 2025 at 1:09 PM
Again, sorry for the variable audio quality this week. Our tiny team grappled heroically with a couple of different things but we ran out of time a bit, and some people would have been quite sad if the episode hadn't been there at the usual hour. Podcasts!

Right we've had some interesting problems with the edit of this episode (4). You might spot a couple of things that don't quite sound right. Don't worry about it too much. Also, there are some other things in that category which ARE deliberate. So good luck I guess.

This week's episode had exactly one listener in Albania, Guam and Vietnam (among many other 1-ers). Whoever you are, we salute you.

Rare sighting of Hugh and Calum in 'real life'.
December 17, 2025 at 11:57 PM
We are busy with episode 4, Slow Cooking, which features the biggest cast so far, brings Calum back into your lives, and is really the first episode where the action has been subtly shaped by the comments of people listening.

Here's PC Catriona Angus in her more common guise. Very talented person. Bit of a suspect cop, though, so far.

Yesterday's episode was the most listened-to, on release day, of the three so far. Of course, the world's population has also increased since the series started. But it's still pleasing - thank you. Now tinkering with episode 4 in response to certain theories people have advanced.
December 15, 2025 at 8:00 PM
Don't forget to listen to episode three tomorrow (unless you have other, more important things to do). Hugh gets grilled by Catriona, hears a couple of theories from a cabbie, and then gets involved in some interesting goings-on at the station as he's heading for home.
December 13, 2025 at 10:25 PM
Thank you once more for listening in impressive numbers to yesterday's episode. Remember, if you're not on Discord - or even if you ARE - you can post theories, observations, clues, thoughts here...
December 8, 2025 at 12:48 PM
Almost a week since that awful business with the murder. You have today to catch up with the opening episode before Hugh begins his investigation tomorrow.
December 6, 2025 at 2:48 PM
Working on episodes 5 and 6 today with a great guest as Steve's manager Martina (Australian). Can't wait to share 2 with you, early Sunday.
December 5, 2025 at 3:09 PM
ANALYTICS FUN: so far, the first episode has been downloaded in 27 countries. Huge shout out to the three people listening in Bangladesh and Cambodia.
December 2, 2025 at 2:50 PM
The second episode is packaged up and ready to frustrate you further on Sunday. In it, Hugh chats extensively to a character we've not yet met, and is hit with something of a bombshell by the police constable Catriona.
December 2, 2025 at 2:29 PM
It's been exciting how many people have already downloaded the first episode (could just be saying that, of course) (but it IS quite a lot). Thank you for your kind words and theorising. We're going to have fun.
November 30, 2025 at 11:35 AM
Two days to go! Final checks are done and the first episode is sitting right here waiting to be released.
