We are sickened by the reports yesterday in The Guardian that a private jet owned by one of Donald Trump’s friends was not only used to deport Palestinians back to the occupied West Bank but that this jet was allowed to fuel in Shannon Airport.

I used to get very frustrated before Marriage Ref having to constantly answer the same basic things re same sex marriage/queer people and getting the same feeling today about cycling. People really don't want to accept that cars kill people and everyone has the right to move around in public safely

We are dealing with a serious incident at the junction of Talbot Street and North Earl Street.

We are asking the public to please avoid the area.

As ever, we are asking people to avoid sharing images of the scene.

Please avoid the area of Talbot Street and North Earl Street while our emergency services attend to this tragic incident.

My thoughts are with the family of the deceased as well as those injured.

So, I had some poorly timed issues with my account yesterday but I am delighted to announce that I’m running to be the next TD for Dublin Central.

I want to bring a focus on community, care, and culture to Dáil Éireann, as well as tackling the climate crisis and the chaos of the world around us.

Not a member of any political party but a fairly close follower of life in the north inner city and @janetphorner.bsky.social would be easily the most impressive politician in the area
The amazing @janetphorner.bsky.social is our candidate in the Dublin Central by-election!

Bin compactors are coming to the O'Connell Street area in the next month or so... Bringing an end to scenes like this!
All businesses will have to bring their waste to the compactors instead of presenting in bags.

Generally, this is good news for the area. I'd love to see more tenure mix on any site in the city centre: and more cost rental homes particularly. But this site has been in limbo for years and this plan is much better than in 2021. So now is time to get building!

One year on and promised storm supports are still not in place

The Green Party condemns the unilateral and illegal action of the U.S. in attacking Venezuela.
The most pressing humanitarian issue is the welfare of people in Venezuela and to protect against violence and unrest in the country in response to the actions of the U.S.

Shocking listening back to this interview with Fine Gael and Sinn Fein. Neither party giving even an ounce of concern to the impact of these rules on vulnerable people in the system.. purely focused on competing for the best way to "strengthen the border" www.rte.ie/radio/radio1...
Government to tighten immigration rules

Four months after it was promised, we finally have the government's transport investment plan between now and 2030. It's bad. Roads are in, public transport is out. A lot of public transport projects being put on the long-finger to make funding available for new roads.

Bringing in new rules with zero public scrutiny or engagement with affected people and advocacy groups is reckless.

The consequences of these decisions will be deeply damaging... and the government is relying heavily on media and public attention having moved on to get away with it..
