The above words were penned by Ben Johnson in 1641. I'm bringing them back here to remind us all that Donald Trump is out of his everlovin' mind. No other way to say it.
All my life, I've heard about the horrors of the McCarthy era and the consequences to innocent Americans, who were unfairly labeled as "enemies of the State." IMO, what we're experiencing now is worse.

Am I wrong?

Bears repeating that Joe Biden was sent to Ukraine in 2015 to deal with corruption there. Then-president Poroshenko had his prosecutor general (like our AG) make up reasons to prosecute Poroshenko's enemies and ignore crimes of his friends. Just like America in 2026. Except this is even worse.

I bristle every time I see these gals like Karoline Leavitt, Pam Bondi, Leslie Halligan and Alina Habba wearing their cute little crucifixes. Like they're so pious. Give me a break. 😏

I'm so in awe of the people of Minneapolis and how they're determined to protect their neighbors. If you're looking for a timely book to read, try Code Name Hélène: A Novel, by Ariel Lawhon. It's based on the inspiring true story of an extraordinary woman navigating the French Resistance.

You know that Republican who quit the race for Minnesota governor after this weekend's shooting? He's not sorry about the death of an innocent citizen. He knows he'd lose, and that loss would ruin his career.

Live to fight another day. That's all.

So good, I have to repost to make sure I have the link. If you haven't seen it yet, take three minutes to revel in the glory. 😉

Why did they kill Alex Patti and not Kyle Rittenhouse? Not because he was armed. It was because they know their tactics have gone way past law and order, and if private citizens are allowed to be armed, too, then *they're* the ones who'll be killed next.
Voting NO on the DHS funding bill is the bare minimum.

Backing Kristi Noem’s impeachment is the bare minimum.

Holding law-breaking ICE agents legally accountable is the bare minimum.

ICE is beyond reform. Abolish it.

Well, what else would you expect? As one sign read: "Too scared to be a soldier, too dumb to be a cop." That sums it up.
ANOTHER ANGLE. This man was NOT brandishing a firearm. He was holding his phone. He then put his body between ICE thugs and woman. He was then sprayed with a chemical agent, tackled, disarmed, and executed. Plain as day. DO NOT let them tell you otherwise.

Not sure Jon Tester is wrong about this, but I can't wait to canvass against Steve Daines in November. Because "he's been there too long" (what I heard about Tester in 2024) and also that Daines spent the Fourth of July 2018 in Russia with the Moscow Eight. montanafreepress.org/2026/01/14/b...

TRUMP HAS WASTED TENS OF BILLION$ already on bogus military operations - murdering boaters, capturing Maduro for Big Oil Corporatists, Bombing Iran, etc.,- after getting elected on a "No War, "No More Military Waste" platform, YET now wants 50% MORE - another 1/2 a TRILLION military budget for 2026?

When Rick Wilson wrote ETTD, little did we know that democracy would be his ultimate victim. But here we are, on the knife's edge of that coming to fruition.

The agent who shot Renee Nicole Good was injured in June when he was dragged by a car he was trying to stop in another ICE operation. I don't know, but he sounds like a hothead who really shouldn't be involved, and certainly not carrying a gun, in such a potentially volatile situation.

Marco Rubio is finding out the hard way that accepting the nomination to be Secretary of State under Trump, which he thought was a path to his own presidency, is instead painting him as incompetent. Here, have a drink of water, Marco.

Just finished the last episodes of Dark Winds (Netflix) last night and couldn't sleep for hours. The message was clear that certain classes have all the force of the law without any of the protections. That's what is coming if we allow Trump and Project 2025 advocates to prevail.
"In neo-royalist orders, hierarchy is the point. The purpose of neo-royalist orders is to develop rules that allow a small clique to maintain dominance in both material and symbolic goods. It thus rejects notions of sovereign equality and noninterference"
4/So what is going on? @segoddard.bsky.social and I argue the confusion is people using old models of global politics. This is not balancing or spheres of influence. It is international politics based on elite cliques rather than national interest i.e. neo-royalism.

I'm so angry at this latest Trump regime scam. It's Venezuela because *oil*, and it'll be Greenland because *rare earth minerals* next. Trump's criminal ethos knows no bounds.

Remember that four years ago, Putin amassed his military along the border with Ukraine, said it was a special operation, and we know what happened next. Now the US has all kinds of military hardware in the Caribbean. Why? He's been chatting with Vlad a lot lately. Could have something to do with it.

I passed over E. Jean Carroll's book--Not My Type--when it came out. Thought it would be a silly rehash of the trials we all followed that year. Not so! It's a breath of fresh air in these turbulent times. She goes behind the curtain with gusto and panache. Do yourself a favor and take a peek.
