Mystified by Dems worriedly telling everyone to be careful because the letter is probably fake. There's no proof it's fake. Just take the win! Act like Republicans for once and run with it. Assume it's real. Donald Trump is a pedophile. Make headlines. Do TikTok videos. Shove it down their throats.

I highly recommend watching this segment, not just because the CBS News execs and the White House didn’t want you to, but because these men were tortured and they deserved to have their voices heard.
!! Here’s a link to full video of the 60 Minutes segment that Bari Weiss killed last minute, via @jasonparis.bsky.social:

(It was uploaded to the Global TV app in Canada, seemingly by accident, and has now been taken down)

bari weiss saw this and decided that she had to hide it from the american public
Guards began beating him. Beat him until he bled. Knocked his face into the wall, broke all his teeth. No access to outdoors, no contact with relatives.

Now describing US knowledge of CECOT's torture practices, followed by footage of Trump praising those practices.

You might question her methods, but credit to Bari Weiss: her leadership has pushed 60 Minutes into new formats and attracted a bunch of new viewership outside the normal broadcast audience.
here's the 60 minutes cecot video part 1 of 5 - recorded/uploaded by and all credit to @jasonparis.bsky.social

I just reduced background noise, chopped the 14 minutes into 3 minute segments each compressed under 100 mb for bsky's limits, cropped and rotated a few degrees for easier viewing on here

So Bari Weiss’s first real editorial intervention at CBS is to repress coverage of American concentration camps.

Again, from Michael Grynbaum, here is Sharyn Alfonsi's full email.

It must be read:

This is Bari Weiss in stonewalling, chin-out, "I won't let the haters get to me" mode. Whether she gets away with it will be determined by whether Sharyn Alfonsi's colleagues at 60 Minutes and CBS News decide to fight back. Pelley, Stahl, Cooper--this decision goes on everyone's permanent record.
Almost every story Weiss greenlit at the Free Press lacked sufficient context. It's kinda their entire schtick.

It’s the “season of love and giving”…but this year, doesn’t it seem more like a “season of fear and taking”? Like many of you, I’ve been saddened by the human impact of draconian government budget cuts and how angry many housed Americans are at unhoused Americans.

A+ outing here from the congressman!
This Yglesias piece in the NYT is horrifically bad. Almost every "fact" it cites is provably false. At best it is cocktail party banter from a pundit who knows nothing of energy. At worst, it was cut/paste from oil industry talking points. So, a rebuttal: www.nytimes.com/2025/12/18/o...

Yesterday, we noted that this image — file 468 — likely slipped through the cracks while officials were attempting to hide materials pertaining to Trump.

Now, it’s gone.

Interesting to consider that if you were to go and deface the Kennedy center by removing Trump’s name, you’d be arrested and charged with a crime, but your act would be no more unlawful than what they’re doing right now.

Small-d democrats have little or nothing to learn about how to govern from the audacious lawlessness of the Trump regime, so argues @donmoyn.bsky.social.

Demolition isn't building, & action isn't achievement. The goals of the movements are fundamentally at odds, so the methods don't translate.
Democrats need a theory of power, but democracies need a theory of accountability
No, the Trump administration is not a model for how to get things done
