with every new Avatar movie there's a chorus of critics saying surely the series has lost its juice NOW and then days later the new Avatar has crossed the $1 billion threshold.

it doesn't matter if his movies are good or bad, never bet against Big Jim at the box office

Now the real question, while we fail to decipher their own have they yet learned our languages?

One of the biggest drivers of high housing costs is that a small, highly motivated group of incumbent homeowners block new housing in their neighborhoods and almost no one is organized to push back.

Young people bear the brunt of that imbalance.

Be a housing fan.

I think the President of the US responding to a question about the murder of a journalist with "A lot of people didn't like that gentleman" is probably pretty bad.

A good read, housing code is complicated and requires a lot of careful planning and consideration.

An honor to get momos with our Mayor-elect today! 🥟🗽🌹

#TeamNoSleep
A busy first day as your Mayor-elect: early morning interviews, transition announcements and meetings. More to say on all of it tomorrow.

But a highlight was lunch with my Congresswoman @aoc.bsky.social at Laliguras Bistro in Jackson Heights.

The Tin Shed is just like that. Off The Griddle and Ben & Esthers are right there, and I recommend both strongly over Tin Shed regardless. (Not that you are going wrong with any of the options nearby.)

I know the Wall Street Journal has been getting worse over time, but this blatant lack of journalistic integrity, deliberate fearmongering, and straight up fabrication is insane. Why lie this blatantly when senior officials are directly saying this is not true? Why keep the article up?

This has been my thing, at this economic point nuclear feels like what we then start making when we *literally run out of room for solar panels* since there isn't really a point where nuclear becomes cheaper than just more solar until we run out of fields for them.

NEW: Tonight, this is all that remains of Nepal's seat of government in Kathmandu.

Singha Durbar was the largest palace in Asia; home to the Prime Minister & government offices.

A 48-hour revolution, led by Gen Z protestors, has toppled the government & left large parts of the capital in flames.

It is interesting, they do genuinely seem to be trying to kill as many Americans as possible within the political realities they face. If I were designing a perfect admin to destroy both American soft power and cause the highest number of statistical casualties, it would be pretty close to this one.

Chop chop, the legislature needs to get moving. The best time to consolidate housing along transit corridors was 20 years ago, but the second best time is now.

Another day, another whiner complaining that I use the singular "they" in my work, and of course they can go fuck themselves

Opinion | ‘They’ has been a singular pronoun for centuries. Don’t let anyone tell you it’s wrong.
Jane Austen did it. You can, too.

We need to retaliate, and do so egregiously. We need to force red states to agree to a federal-level independent system which redistricts states in as fair a way as possible. Anything short of this is Democrat leaders implicitly handing over the country to one-party rule.
