Today is Kathe Koja’s birthday!!! This is also a reminder that Kathe is one of the greatest living authors of horror/dark fiction and she had the most explosive, remarkable debut since Barker’s Books of Blood. They don’t crash land on the horror scene like they used to. Love you, Kathe! ❤️

Time for a stock take.
It's been an odd year for me. Mental health stuff, which I'm thankful to have come out the other side of. Only recently have I been able to not just absorb, but enjoy, writing, film, art. These last couple of months, I've gradually started to feel like myself again (1/5)

Another winner. Great nonfic from Strantzas on juxtaposition and from Peak, disguised as fiction, on ontology. Killer stories by Say, Kuryla, Humphrey and excellent bookends from Demchuk and Klausner (both on identity juxtaposed with ontology, actually)

@spencerwriting.bsky.social's IN THE DREAM, HE IS SKINLESS AND BEAUTIFUL is on HWA Bram Stoker Award Reading List. What's that mean? Don't know. But maybe you want to read and rec a story about skin, loss, and the dripping viscera of the thoughts we keep inside ourselves.
