Tomorrow, nearly 300 unsheltered people in Minneapolis will be at the mercy of the storm, because our mayor’s ego is too big and he has to maintain the lie that unsheltered homelessness is down to 27 people.

Brilliant protest. Yosemite National Park workers hung an upside-down American flag — traditionally a symbol of distress or a national threat — thousands of feet off the ground on the side of El Capitan.

Resistance comes in many forms. Slow it down. Stand it the way. Tie whatever knots you can.
When Mona Parsons, from Nova Scotia, was imprisoned for being a part of the Dutch Resistance during WWII in Holland, she was tasked with knitting socks for German soldiers. She knit knots in the soles to create blisters on their feet as an act of defiance. I think about that a lot. Knots.

One of the people who runs the shower side of the shower pop up my free clothes closet is at, Deeq, needs dental help. He is genuinely one of the best souls I know. He runs the kids' programming, does Somali translation, organizes the food shelf... And he needs community right now.

Imagine that it's so cold that Minneapolis has closed schools, but it's not too cold for some dipshits to be out evicting a small encampment, making people leave their shelters, many of which are frozen to the ground and can't be brought with them

For fucks sake

hello cis friends
this is what people mean by trans genocide

if a type of person does not officially exist, then any harm against them cannot be measured or reported

this headline change isn't even being caused by an executive order

it's simply the NYT editors deciding we don't deserve to exist

Keith Haring died of AIDS aged 31 on 16 Feb 1990.
One of his last works, Unfinished Painting, was deliberately incomplete, reflecting the devastating, unquantifiable loss to the arts due to AIDS.

I had depression before I ever had a cell phone, as did several generations of relatives before me.

I had depression despite eating all-organic, making my food at home, and giving up everything I could think of from alcohol to coffee.

But getting rid of people like me is the feature not the bug.
