People can say it’s utopian or dreamy but it’s a fact that you have to believe new things are possible, fundamentally, in order to make them real. You have to make the choice to believe that more than this is possible & not be resigned to this being the way things have to be because it’s not at all.

The thing is, it is extremely *easy* to be normal to trans people. It takes zero effort. Being normal is the easy, lazy option.

You have to actually expend effort and go out of your way to not be normal to trans people. It actively requires effort.

I regularly see people wondering how it's possible that there are so many musicians and writers and film makers and artists from a tiny nation like Iceland.

And the answer is really simple: State funding for art education and artists. I literally get a salary from the government to write books.
I’m constantly astounded at the sheer level of artistic production coming out of Iceland. Novels, movies, music. Amazing.

Yesterday I told a group of elderly white people they were thinking way too much about other people’s genitals when they started up about pronouns and rolled into anti trans and you know what — they stfu very quickly and we moved on. This is the very least I expect from anyone elected to fight nazis
the logic of his position is that you would them abandon those issues and so on and so on until you’ve fully sacrificed a group of vulnerable americans to reactionary bullies for the sake of a percentage point (if that)
Like this. "You must strategically abandon the specific issues that the right has rendered toxic & focus on others."

But then ... why wouldn't the right just be able to do the same thing on those other issues?
