Happy one year on oestrogen day to all who celebrate.

Spoiler alert: It's me.

I've got some news to share as I continue my journey of self-discovery towards being my authentic self. It hasn't been easy and I felt keeping it under wraps for a while was the safer option, but the time feels right.
I just know there's a group of people who are going to use Barbieri starting in the #AWCL as a "logical" reason why there shouldn't be a debate around Willa Pearson playing, and think they're making a good point.

"Because how can someone be too young if someone can't be too old to play?"

Just a reminder - even if the LNP had not decided to dump the net zero target, they would still be irrelevant to what the Govt can do.

For $7000 US Dollars, you could pay a significant portion of an A-League Women players minimum salary (which is a very sad indictment on the state of the Dub)
For $7000, you could buy season tickets for you and over a dozen of your closest friends to any NWSL club’s supporters section.
Another price increase for the 2026 World Cup…

Sensing strong demand, FIFA raised the cost of many tickets to record-setting heights — the first large-scale implementation of its “variable pricing” strategy.

I'm sure playing at 1pm and 12:30pm in the middle of an LA summer won't have any negative impacts what-so-ever on player safety or the game itself.
Still no info for location of group stage matches at LA28 Olympics, but schedule is now out.

The Rose Bowl will host from semifinals on. For the women:

Semifinals: Tues, July 25 at 5:30 and 8:30 pm PT
Bronze medal match: Fri, July 28 at 1 pm PT
Gold medal match: Sat, July 29 at 12:30 pm PT

On Wednesday, the PFA released its annual report on the A-League Women, which had some shocking statistics about what the players experience. Poletti and Burke discussed five of the big talking points from the report on The Dubcast.

Reading the report and knowing that every club bar Adelaide and Brisbane had a decrease in attendance bar was shocking. And I shudder to think what that 26% would have looked like if you take out Adelaide's 58% increase in crowds.
The PFA's report into the 2024/25 #ALW season found that the average crowd attendance for games was 1559, a 26% decrease compared to the previous season. Only two clubs (Adelaide and Brisbane) had a positive attendance increase, with two-thirds of clubs experiencing a crowd decrease of 28% or more.

The PFA report is insanely damning, but also not surprising in the slightest to anyone who has paid attention to the #ALW beyond the 90 minutes on the field. What was surprising for mine was how bad some of the numbers were, and some of the quotes from players. The Dub can't continue like this.

I genuinely believe that the #ALW has far more commercial and sporting potential than the ALM.

The men’s has about as much chance of a return to the glory days as Ska music.

Almost all people who run the sport are only capable of seeing it through the lens of a men’s game foremost.
a new #ALeagueWomen report released today has some shocking stats, including that over half the league experienced sport-related psychological distress in the 2024-25 season. the PFA is urgently requesting change as the league slips further behind.

Round 2 of the #ALW saw the two Melbourne teams dominate NSW opposition, while Sydney FC started their sixth goalkeeper in the last 12 months, and so much more.

If Chris Minns stubbed his toe, he'd say the answer is more police powers.

Cops aren't the solution to racism, they're the problem.

It's already a crime to incite hatred based on race, but the cops didn't care - in fact they approved the Form 1 for the rally!

we should not be letting any company get away with blaming AI for their failures. I'm not even sure how we got to this point. people are like "it's just a tool" okay so is a forklift and we still hold somebody responsible when it goes wrong and hurts someone. this is YOUR AI!
