Just once, I would like to hear the serious, grownup people who actually have some pull in the dem party say “wow. we fucked up real bad. time to let somebody else take a turn at the wheel” but I know it will never happen
Something funny is that if Tesla had a p/e in line with the nasdaq average (~30), musk wouldn’t even be on this list
pretty stunning chart

So obviously this is bad, but I’m skeptical of the ceo’s claim that they can’t make the vaccines if they can’t sell them in the US. This is basically holding 95% of the world’s population hostage unless the US pays the ransom
In terms of what cures are being lost:

- Epstein-Barr virus is perhaps the major trigger for multiple sclerosis
- herpes simplex virus causes cold sores, genital herpes, infections in babies, deadly meningitis
- shingles virus causes an intensely painful disease

My father did the same thing, but replace “mandolin” with “table saw”
this was also me confidently saying "there's a guard but you don't really need it" before slicing the tip of my thumb off in a mandolin

I went to school with a guy who jumped out of a tree into a pile of leaves. He didn’t know there was some old lumber underneath and got a nail in his foot and a nasty bone infection that put him in the hospital. Mfer got workman’s comp for it too. RIP Greg
most of the scars left on my body from work were preceded by me saying "oh, I got this" or "here's what you don't want to do"

I always sort of thought that I would live through the breakdown of civilization but I never thought it would be so stupid

Pretty much everything I know about kid rock’s music comes from that one Simpsons episode. I understand that the little guy is dead now

Mamdani proved that many moderate Dems would rather vote for a corrupt sex pest universally acknowledged to be an asshole than a charismatic progressive poc. She’s my rep and I like her, but I don’t trust the people who say “vote blue no matter who” to actually do it
my 2028 primary take here is that if AOC makes a serious run it's hers to lose because I think she will be able to most credibly channel the rage of the primary voters
You know a politician is thinking about running for president when they start making moves on foreign policy: AOC will be headed to the Munich Security Conference and will speak in Berlin with a member of Germany's Social Democratic Party.

Shit. I burned the 10yo’s lunch. My wife: “good thing the smoke detector doesn’t work, lol.” Thanks, not helping

@marypeltola.com hey, just so you know, sending me texts under the name of james carville is probably the least effective way to get me to give you money

Some people are saying bezos wrecked wapo on purpose; others that he really thought there was an audience for their crap. I think it was just a toy to play with until he lost interest.

I have just discovered that google books no longer works. If you have a link, you can still get to a book, but the search doesn’t work at all so you can’t find anything. Really sucks

A fundamental problem with this country is that you have less responsibility, transparency, and duty as you gain more power when it should be the opposite. The Supreme Court gets to be very secretive for no good reason. Cops get a monopoly on violence and have near total immunity when they use it.

If there comes a day when police put their bodies between the feds with guns and their targets, I will praise the police for doing so. I don’t expect to see that day. It might even be a dangerous escalation. But until that day comes … I assume they are helping the feds.
