I have heard this phrased in so many different ways, but “not performance art” has to be the best. Because at the end of the day, it’s not about morals it’s not about values and it’s not about the marginalized. It’s just a performance.

I’ve said this a million times but: freelance journalists are barred by the federal government from unionizing. They consider it price fixing. So these companies can exploit the fuck out of us and there’s absolutely nothing we can do about it.
