Cicero's 6 Mistakes of Man:
Believe personal gain comes from crushing others
Worry about the unchangeable
Insist smth's impossible bcuz we can't do it
Refuse to set aside trivial preferences
Neglect the mind
Force others to believe as we do

I don't know if it's really clear, outside of coverage of Mpls and pockets of organizing elsewhere, that hundreds of thousands of people are actively and at every level of society fighting our government as it abducts and imprisons and torments our neighbors.

Ok yes the 3 minute pizza does what it says on the tin. Cooks in 3. They fail however to tell you about the 5 minutes scrape job getting the pizza off of the "crisp crusting platform"

Is the Turing Test sufficient enough to prove sentience? Ask the sentience made by a commercial vendor whose value goes up the more people think AI is sentient!
Experiments conducted with the A.I. system Claude are producing fascinating results—and raising questions about the nature of selfhood. Gideon Lewis-Kraus reports from inside the company that designed it, Anthropic. newyorkermag.visitlink.me/rOfXjg

One of the reasons I love this film is the hero defeats the villains because he reads books.
Three Days of the Condor (1975) er #mandagsfilmen her. Denne har vært på tittelista i årevis.

The only movie made expressly to scare prescriptivists.
Re-Watching Pontypool (2008)!

Spoken languages may have the power to turn people into raving lunatics...and this is why there are grammar police! They've been trying to protect us, & everyone always mocks them for being nerds and need to relax! When this happens, they will be the sole survivors!

There was a time when the Irish were barely considered human.
*Green card application in process and work permit, married to US citizen
*Lived in US for 20 years, no criminal record
*In detention for five months with no charge, despite judge approving release
*He disputes ICE claim that he signed forms agreeing to deportation
And here is my story: ‘Absolute hell’: Irishman with valid US work permit held by Ice since September

1/ ProPublica collected handwritten letters in mid-January from children held at the Dilley Immigration Processing Center, the same facility where 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos was taken.

Hundreds of kids are still detained.

We’ll let the children’s words speak for themselves. 🧵

IMO there are two types of developers: CLI and IDE

It's interesting to me how much CLI is dominating the AI conversation. Are people switching to the CLI specifically for AI development? Or have I just been missing out on CLI development this whole time? 😂

the Epstein files are really devastating because they remind me of how many girls and women miss out on professional opportunities, mentorship and careers because of how many powerful, rich and influential men only view girls and women — and interactions with them — through the lens of sex

Gorgeous ending
And that ending, so relevant right now.
Compulsory watching.
I’m having a hard time thinking of an interview between two human beings I enjoyed more than tonight’s interview of the great Ian McKellen by the great Stephen Colbert. Every moment of it was a pleasure that I highly recommend… but then came the most REMARKABLE ending that you really HAVE to watch.

I think given the public trust inherent in broadcast licenses and streaming service providers using the govt supported Internet, I would like to see a legal requirement that any broadcaster, studio, large media company be required to fund, either singly or collectively, a free, independent news svc.
