Taking inspiration from the world of horror! Enjoying the good, the bad, the questionable and all other aspects of the genre! Questionable poet, Doubtful Sage, and Avid Movie Fan!
It's #Sonnetsunday + #Limerick too!

Poisonous Toxins are dropped into a pond,
Arachnids mutate, and huge spiders are spawned,
Townsfolk seek refuge in the mall,
Retreat to the mines one and all,
With such crazy story, who would respond?

Re-Watching Bride of Chucky (1998)!

Sure, nobody would have a problem with you going spouse shopping at a doll store when you are a doll, but when you're a human and you're looking for a doll spouse, & all of a sudden you're a depraved pervert! Would a doll be perverted if it wanted a human spouse?

When your child's room is swarming with filthy insects, it is so much easier to claim that they have been possessed by an evil demon, than it is to simply admit your child is absolutely disgusting and doesn't clean up after themselves! Just remember what you were like growing up...or in college!

Re-Watching Child's Play 3 (1991)!

Give a toy doll fatigues, Military AI & a gun with real ammo & I bet you the top brass would have no problem with their Military playing with dolls...Of course, don't call them dolls, they're heroes...also, you shouldn't call it play, instead call it training!

Re-Watching Child's Play 2 (1990)!

It might not the biggest seller, but every doll should come out with a Voodoo Ritual playset. After a legal battle, it would be pulled from shelves...then the buyers could sell it for a huge profit! Of course, why would they need money if they have voodoo?

Re-Watching Child's Play (1988)!

I'm not so sure the doll is at fault. Surely the manufacturer has a detailed list of things that you need to keep the doll away from! Knives, hammers (real or toy), scissors, matches, liquor, lighters, guns, cleaning supplies, poison and a laundry list of others.

It's #Tanka Tuesday!

Rose The Hat--The Villainous Tanka
Doctor Sleep (2019)

A strong Cult Leader,
Feeds on the ‘steam’ of children,
Torture and kill kids,
Cultist almost immortal,
Wants strongest girl they’ve seen yet!

Re-Watching Rodan (1956)!

Even in school I always wondered what ancient supersonic birds would aim their poop at since there were no freshly washed cars driving about! It's one of the greatest mysteries of the ages that only time travel would be able to answer!

Alien Apocalypse (2005)

I need to read up on Insects. I know that termites eat wood, but I don't remember being told they'd eat human heads in lieu of it!

Re-Watching Pandamonium (2020)!

It seems like many masked killers are either running out of ideas and coming up with a mask unique & different from anyone else, or there is a deeply tragic reason that they chose the mask. Be sympathetic when they stalk you, its 50/50 they'll want to talk about it!

Re-Watching Dracula (1931) (Spanish Version)!

It's nice that Dracula has not wasted his eternal life and instead has worked on bettering at least parts of himself. Taking the time to learn the languages of the world. Of course, he likely wouldn't have been successful in only knowing Transylvanian.

Re-Watching Humanoids from the Deep (1980)!

I am guessing that for salmon to go through their annual effort of swimming upstream against river currents in order to mate, that it has to be their B-day, Salmon X-mas, or St. Salmontines Day! Because the chance to mate just doesn't happen that often!

Re-Watching The Legend of Hell House (1973)!

Ghosts must love it when experts come to their stomping grounds. Whether it be scientists, mediums, or religious folks. They scare just as easy, but struggle so hard to rationalize what is happening to defend their narrative, they go mad before fleeing!

Just Watched Sky Sharks (2020)!

In the Arctic, a WWII Nazi research ship is uncovered at the same time it's squadron of its heavily armed anti-gravity Great White sharks with Nazi Zombie super-soldier pilots takes to the skies! A reformed Nazi scientist & his daughters are our only hope!

Re-Watching Harvest of Fear (2004)!

Is a killer, recreating crimes from 20-years ago a copy-cat killer, or a re-make killer? If the crimes are done by the same killer, are they considered re-runs? Do the new deaths count for less as some of the credit goes to the killer of the original crimes?

Sometimes love falls out of the marriage and it just dies. Sometimes in a marriage a person dies but the marriage stays together. Some marriages even go beyond death, but I'm pretty sure they aren't supposed to, otherwise the vows would specifically mention the eternal bond of necrophilia.
January 31, 2026 at 5:52 PM
Some might, but many movies have them work through others, a friend, a parent, some poor kid, or just some rando that happens by. Then they don't ask for help directly, they terrify the folks until they help. I figure all stories have a bit of truth to them.

In the 80s that was basically all it took to be considered 'the plot'. I was the poster teenager for their target audience & revisiting them now is a different experience. Oddly, the women pictured on the covers were rarely in the movie. Even in my teenage years I found that odd.
January 31, 2026 at 3:38 PM
A classic! I'm afraid I'm going to have to wait at least 9 months to call though.
January 31, 2026 at 3:29 PM
Would make for a different, yet equally interesting viewing experience...and a new career goal...Sorority House Masseuse.
January 31, 2026 at 3:19 PM
Most 80s horror is worth checking out, of course, that was my era so I may be a bit biased.
January 31, 2026 at 3:09 PM
I started as a fry cook at McDonalds...I wouldn't want anyone to be linked to my experience. It was boring and tedious, but mainly, the experience is just not the same unless you smell like frier grease after.

Re-Watching Stir of Echoes 2: The Homecoming (2007)!

I don't understand ghosts...If I were murdered & remained a ghost, I would haunt & torment my killer. Unless it's some cosmic afterlife rule that you cannot haunt the person who did it. That would mean that the afterlife, like life, is not fair!

Leatherface (2017)

Who do you root for when the choices are escaped psychopaths, a killer family, or violent agents of the law?
I'd root for the person that solves this puzzle!
