Whenever I hear that, I think of Einstein "if we knew what it was we were doing, it wouldn't be called research." Carl Sagan "Science literally peering into a limitless abyss of ignorance 2 find meaning & lead us 2 eventual peace for all mankind." None of it is useless if only to eliminate options

I despise scrum. I love the agile manifesto (almost all of which was already in The Mythical Man-Month). Part of my consulting is helping tiny startup teams how to ignore much of the FAANG-based hype like scrum.

Suppose I as USAer ask an AI to identify every person laughing in a picture taken in Tokyo of JPNers. Will an AI trained on primarily WEIRD datasets identify JPN women who traditionally cover their mouths when laughing? Or will they only be identified when the question is "show everyone horrified"?

I've only recently started studying this stuff so I !grok all of it. But it's fascinating. (and oh! the drama! lol) I feel though like this isn't addressing my point. I highly doubt that VGR will help overcome linguistic bias. Let me give you an example.

I'm super tired so maybe I'm misunderstanding something but is this implying that autistic folks do not have any assumptions but work on pure science?

It's also important to remember that only a few airports are doing it right now and afaik foreign airports won't accept it for a long time. Even if they do, you still have to have possession of a physical passport in most countries for police inspection when necessary.
