To those using Kickstarter: before backing a project, make sure it's legit. See below: Canadian artist @kness.bsky.social had their work stolen, images generated with the help of AI. 😢
Well this is not a nice start to my week. Someone reported to me that a kickstarter uses my pictures and it’s really sickening because they’re ALL mine with FREAKING AI bg. I already filed a copyright claim but it makes me sick.

The late fall/early winter weather was the nudge I needed to play #Landnama again. I'm really enjoying the bite-sized sessions and low-stress colony management.

There's a print of Alex Colville's "To Prince Edward Island" on the wall of the guest bedroom I'm in. It's in frame when I'm in video meetings and the woman looks like she's staring people down. Good vibes? No. Tickles my funny bone? Yes.

fun fact: Halloween in the north of England used to be known as nut-crack night.
people would mark nuts with the names of lovers and place them around a fire.
nuts that sizzled, spat or jumped indicated romantic incompatibility. nuts that burned together suggested peaceful, happy partnerships.

It's so disappointing that environmentalism is treated as an expense for the "good times" only. Green initiatives can be economically beneficial and just a few changes (i.e. taxing the wealthy) would fund more expensive improvements. Humans are killing ourselves but it's still not an emergency.
