It turned out that things like morals, empathy and dignity are like trees---they take decades to grow. They can also be clear cut just like trees: when ppl are doused daily with fear, bigotry and hate.

The regime’s threats are too real and the stakes are too high to settle for the feckless, loser version of the Democratic Party we saw this week. In this moment when fascists are on the march, we need leadership with a spine.

Also, one last note: you don't "fix" the party by walking away from it. You lean in harder, and elect better candidates in the primaries.

Is it true that one-third of the Senate Democratic Caucus can petition to call a special meeting to replace Chuck Schumer?
If so, do you think that should happen?
Who would you like to see as the new leader?
I'd love to see my senator, @adamschiff.com because we need someone fierce AF & brilliant.

Today was my 3rd CoViD-related surgery in my 2-year CoViD journey. Rib cartilage to recreate the nasal septum that CoViD destroyed, and muscles from my temple to replace the lining of my nose.

This NYT framing is ludicrously overstated. Sure, there are primaries. But if anything, the results showed a lot of Dems that there's a way to unify the factions around anti-Trump and affordability politics (as I try to argue in the piece/thread below).
