Trump wrote a letter to Norway's prime minister saying (paraphrasing) their failure to award him the Nobel Peace Prize means he's no longer focused on peace, for which reason he'll do what's good for America and take possession of Greenland.

Insane and vengeful. 25th Amendment time, please.

Three years today. The cops are already killing protesters—it's not a line we haven't crossed, it's a thing already happening—but lots of people never heard about or paid attention to this one. So it goes

I had known about Rummler being blinded. I hadn't realized that Britain Rodriguez was blinded as well that night.
Feds who blinded a young protester by shooting a less-lethal projectile at close range in Santa Ana shot a second man in the face that night, Britain Rodriguez, 31, blinding him too.

For @msnownews.bsky.social, I wrote an article about how ICE Watch is grounded in sociological theories of violence prevention.

The reality is that most men will only commit public violence in extremely specific scenarios and ICE Watch disrupts the conditions necessary for escalation.
Opinion | I'm a Minneapolis sociologist who studies violence. Here's how ICE observers are helping.
Research into how violence occurs shows that disapproval from the people around you can help reduce it.

The Trump-Vance administration just used your taxes to pay for an ICE agent to do this to a 21-year-old kid, who was only protesting because another ICE agent killed a mother of three, who was only there because ICE agents are kidnapping your neighbors

The reality is that ICE and DHS actually CAN and ARE attacking people who are exercising their rights.

I say this NOT to dissuade anyone from exercising those rights, but to challenge @tedlieu.bsky.social and other politicians to do more to protect those rights than post this kind of thing.
The First Amendment protects the public’s right to:

1. Film ICE in public

2. Photograph ICE in public

3. Observe what ICE does in public

ICE and DHS officials cannot lay a finger on any American who is peacefully exercising First Amendment rights.
