that whole 'this country isn't ready for a woman president' line is really upsetting because it shows exactly how neoliberalism works, redirecting blame from issues of policy (or lack thereof) onto a flattened, vague type of sexism in a way that ultimately doesn't even challenge sexism!

Hey 2028 Dems,

You should call for Schumer to go now. I promise it'll only help you.

Believe it or not they were actually only like +2 before Newsom actually decided to act like somewhat of an opposition to Trump, now they're closer to +3-4.

Every Democrat should be copying his tactics and style but combine it with an anti-corruption agenda.

...the reason more Democrats aren’t calling for Schumer’s ousting is because they are afraid of offending donors who contribute to Schumer and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.

You tell them that they’ll be able to trust Dems to fight for them when we have new leaders in Congress. What happened tonight highlights the imperative need to replace these corporate Dems with young, diverse, creative progressives who LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE and not just play the same tired game

Next time I’m talking to a young voter and they ask me how they can trust Democrats to fight for them, what the actual fuck am I supposed to say?

Oh they’ll fight for you until Chuck no longer feels like it?

We spent months working to rebuild the Democratic brand in the eyes of young voters who wanted leaders who'd fight for them.

Senate Democrats just lit all that work on fire.

If the Republicans really wanted to reopen the government, they could do it without the Democrats. The Democrats need to make the Republicans own this shutdown and all the suffering it is causing and they won't do that by capitulating with nothing to show for it.

After the largest peaceful pro-democracy demonstrations in American history, and a blue wave election where voters clearly and loudly said FIGHT ALL OF THIS CHAOS, it is malpractice and disqualifying for an elected Democrat to suggest caving to Trump.

I'm looking in your direction, Chuck Schumer.

I think this also shows that Schumer is mostly deluded and out of touch. He absolutely believes the off year elections last week are a good bellwether for him personally, and not a sign of cataclysmic fury from the American electorate.

As many have pointed out, Mamdani didn't stand apart from our trans brothers and sisters. He didn't play the "Gee, gosh, it sure is complicated," milquetoast moderate card. And he crushed.

Thesis: The people across the US repudiated the Trump agenda.

Antithesis: But the people even after four years of Trump failed to turn out for Harris and she lost the general election.

Synthesis: The Biden admin and Harris campaign failed to offer a meaningful alternative to Trump's agenda.

Joe Biden ran on Bernie’s agenda in 2020 to get progressive votes. And it worked.
Then establishment dems quashed most of that agenda.
And VP Harris paid the price.

Record turnout in NYC because young voters once again have someone to vote for.
